This is one of those little issues that is driving me crazy. I need a strong phone mount solution that doesn't involve a suction cup or drilling into my dash. Any recommendations?

I've been using the Gamiviti dash mount solution with a rail for ram mounts. One arm is for the magsafe and one for a quad mount. Working great.

Use the search but the top options are quadlock, pro clip, and gamiviti.
I’m using a peak design mount double stick taped to the LCD cabin temp display/clock. It’s held up fine for 20k miles through 100+ degree days and multiple off road trips.

I'm liking the Pro Clip mount a lot. Feels extremely secure and you're not dealing with anything that clips directly to the air vents.

You will get a bit of a gap in your interior trim though.

I finally got motivated to find a solution yesterday. As many have noted, the built-in wireless charger in 16+ LC 200s is lacking. I pulled the dash apart and separated the phone charger tray from the wireless charger module. I am planning on using a MagSafe charger powered from the cigarette lighter plug to provide ~ 5A to the charger. This approach requires adding in a 12V to 5V step-down converter, but there is plenty of room when you remove the charger module.

Since you started "200 series" and not just LC, I'm putting in a suggestion for LX owners.
YotaForge3D on Etsy makes a great custom Phone Mount Solution. It fits right into the stock console hardware. Really nice product.

If you have an Apple device, MagSafe is hard to beat. Proclip mount, MagSafe puck with VHB tape, wire it to a high output USBC cig lighter adapter behind the dash. Extremely easy to mount/dismount the phone, charges quickly, OE apple quality.

I ended up 3D printing a post that sticks to the dash with 3M VHB and has a MS puck on the end. Swiveling the phone from portrait to landscape is extremely quick. Only falls off if I bump it with my hand.. so far no terrain has managed to knock it off. Literally everyone that has seen it in action wants an equivalent for their car.

I get many can’t 3D print, but proclip makes seriously great solutions. I would have done that if it didn’t block a vent.

IMO quad-lock, while effective, isn’t as good of an automotive solution for iPhone owners. Tho if you need to mount on a bicycle or motorcycle also, that would definitely push me in that direction.

Pro clip has my vote for anything no drill. Otherwise Learher and Dirt has a nice dash mount option that I’m a big fan of.

I'm not yet a ton of help for LC owners in this area, but if you have an 08-15 LX, I designed a fitted magsafe compatible mount. I wanted something that looked a bit more sleek and didnt mount to or cover up the majority of the vent. My magsafe setups have wireless charging or non-charging option. YotaForge3D on etsy

If you don't mind it being off the door handle, this solution has been working great and is totally out of the way. I might change out the magnetic mount to the locking one due to the fact that on washboard type runs, the phone will either rotate or fall on more rough areas. Other than that, completely solid. The only con is you need to use a Peak Design case which isn't an issue for me.

I got this one, no drilling, easy peasy. clamps on the phone like a .....

I just bought the Peak Design vent unit here and it is tits... easy, solid, magsafe, charging... I really think that I am going to forego the whole Hamilton carplay upgrade ($500-$800 installed) and just use this along with bluetooth... really solves the problem if you just need the phone for Maps and music IMHO.

I also have a PD mount, stick on with 3M heavy duty tape, mounted on the black area next to the lcd clock. It’s been there for about a year and half. I changed the tape once but otherwise it’s been quite solid. Paired with the PD case it works really well.
