In my quest for more travel and keeping my tires in the dirt as much as possible in crawling situations, I've FINALLY installed my LandcruiserPhil front sway bar disconnects.

I also removed my OME N74 shocks and installed the longer OME Nitrocharger sport "L" shocks with the LCP rear shock mount drop - this gives me 3" more droop in the rear. All were easy to install and came with clear instructions.

Sub'd.

Received my order with fast courteous service. So kudos for that.

I had difficulty getting passenger side of my sway bar to match up with the bracket. I ended up having to slot all the holes in the bracket to make it work. It was off by about a full witdth of the pin. Not surprising that each 20 year old vehicle may not be exactly the same.

I found reconnection to be difficult and require the use of tools. I think this was primarily because no trail I have ever been on has a level paved surface to park on. Reconnection in garage was painless when I originally installed.

After my second day on the trail disconnected I found the brackets completely mangled. From the quick peek I took while reconnecting the bar I think the bar itself took a hit and transferred all that energy into the brackets.

When I have time I will remove the swaybar drop brackets I had installed and try to straighten the pinup brackets back out. I think the drop brackets just put my swaybar too low making it succeptible to rocks.

Thanks we are no different than you when we order something we want it ASAP.

My guess is your sway bar has been damaged and bent. Has your 80 ever been in an accident? This would make reattaching it also a challenge if you had a level surface.

No tools should every be needed or used when reconnecting. See above for possible reason for trail reconnection

Did you cycle your suspension as layed out in the instruction after installation to check for clearance issues or was the damage from something foreign on the trail? Would like to see pictures if available.

The bracket will provide much more sway bar clearance than when attached. Is your 80 a diver or used as a rock buggy?

Bar is pretty straight I think. Or was before I hit it with something. As I said reconnecting in the garage was no problem however doing so on dirt took more effort. Just the nature of what's going on not a reflection of the product.

When I said I am going to remove the brackets I mean the lowering brackets added to compensate for the lift. I think they are too large and reduce clearance.

No clearance issues with the suspension I don't think. When I get things straightened back out I'll put it on the forklift and find out for sure before hitting the trail again.

The 80 is daily driven by my wife and crawls on the weekends.

Again thanks for the top notch service. Your kit saved a lot of time trying to find the right hardware and creating my own solution.

How much lift does your 80 have?

I bought it with an OME lift installed. It appears to be the standard 2.5 inch. Working on making it our own currently.

Hi Phil,
I'm going to put in an order for this too.... And done.

Phil, not to regurgitate what's already been said, but I'm confused... I ordered the sway bar disconnect, but is there something else I need to do to deal with my rear suspension? I have a TJM 2" lift / shocks...

Nothings needs to be added to the rear when purchasing SBD.

The spacers Murf reference above are used to maximize rear travel given his OEM set up. One part that is not noted is the need for properly sized bump stops to work with the spacers.

thx Phil, package rec'd!
