How safe is it to drive with not being able to tighten down the nuts on two front wheel hub studs. The rest are fine. Lots of posts on lug nuts but couldn’t find anything related to my question. Thanks.

What’s wrong with the studs?

The wheel hub is what the Lug bolt to.
Do you mean the drive flange nuts ?
If so it’s not a safety concern.
If the remaining 4 come lose it will cause damage but you won’t lose control of the
Vehicle.
I think it will be fine for the short term.

Not sure on two but i've had one missing for probably 7 years now

Edit: Talking about the drive flange nuts not lugnuts btw

You could remove the drive flange then replace the bad studs. Might as well replace all of them while you're in there along with
new studs and nuts.

Here's one option, stronger than OEM flange studs and nuts (you reuse the cone washers or replace with new)
These studs are made by ARP so you can torque them up a bit more than stock and they're less likely to strip.
They're also a tad longer than OEM so they stick out maybe 1/16" further than stock studs.

Very easy to remove the studs if you pick up a set of Metric stud removers like below. Takes seconds if you use a small impact
with this type stud remover.

Sorry guys for my lack of terminology. I’m about as mechanical included as a wood pecker. Here’s what going on. I ordered a set of center caps from SolveFuntion. I’ve attached a pic of the outcome. I really prefer this look to the stock caps. Everything went smith until the 4th cap. As you can see in the second pic, Solve function uses an adaptor/collar that threads onto I guess the hub flange, correct me if this isnt the flange. And the front caps bolt into these collars. As you can see from the second pic, I had to unscrew the collar about 1/8th to 1/4th of an inch in order to reach the threads (only on this one cap). I’ve reached out to SolveFunction for a possible set of longer bolts and a new cap since as you can see, I cracked this one trying to force it. I’m 1000 percent sure he’ll work with me to correct this but I would like to know if this is dangerous to drive in this condition. If so, I’ll just revert back until I get a longer bolt. Hopefully this was clearer than my original post. Please advise on safety.

Thanks
Robert

That's the drive flange
Take the cap off and and put the nuts back on tell you get longer bolts.

First I've seen how those "hub" caps attach to the drive flanges.

Photos often help when asking a question.

Removed the cap and reinstalled the standard nuts today on that wheel. SolveFunction already has longer bolts in the mail. Great customer service.
