been searching this thing as a temporary fix till I replace my front heater core . anybody have any pics in doing this ? This is what I did , just wanna make sure I did it right TY.
how has this worked out? any overheating issues since now there is no restriction for this bypass? I am planning on doing this either today or tomorrow and i dont know if a restrictor is in order to maintain more circulation in the head.
yes true, when the thermostat opened i would spring the major leak lol that hose under the 5th cylinder was majorly cracked, i think that thermostat opens that right up.
i asked before because to my understanding, there was a restriction to lower water pressure circulating to the heater core so it wouldn't blow up . i figured that restriction created some back pressure on the flow in head and maybe that would influence the way the coolant circulates in the head - most notable near cylinders 5 and 6.
i did get a reply on another thread here that it's fine to just run it as the photo above and no resitrictor is needed. just a hose from one end to the other will suffice. i was asking here to get some real world confirmation, because it seems most of the folks here live in colder states and just delete the rear heater but maintain the front one.
i would be a bit embarrased to say how i am running this new hose, but not emabarassed to say its an official coolant EPDM hose.
