Well I purchased my FJ43 in 2008 in Colombia, yes years before the "FJ43 Exodus" started, and this thread will turn into an accidental frame-off build.
In the year 2007 in Cali, Colombia a group of 6 friends 60+ wanted to travel South America with their FJ43. They all prepared there trucks for that journey. When 1 of the 6 suddenly died the journey got cancelled, and so 3 of the 40's where offered for sale around and in Cali, some more build then the others
This FJ43 was 1 of them. Till that time 3 owners, of which 2 female owners in Bogota for 23 years and the last PO in Cali that made some changes.
The first picture I took
FJ43. year 1982, Color 653, New Warn winch, ARB copy bumper, 112.000 km (probably right, original front and rear seats etc are still in there in perfect shape) , disc brakes in the front, other rims with thicker 33" tires, actually PO had changed the front axle for a heavier FJ70 one, the original power steering was changed with a steering box of of a Chevrolet Impala 1963-1966, 3.5 fast turn, airconditioning, extra rear back up light.
It stayed in Colombia and it was a blast to use it there every year on holidays.
Till 2014 I brought it to the Dutch Antilles to join the herd.
