If you have to ask "how much?" it isn't a serious inquiry. :)
Yeah, but it is required per forum rules. ;)

There seem to be holes in the "c" pillar, but i cannot tell if they are threaded or not.

42 denotes a 3B engine
40 denotes a B engine

Yes, the 5spd was only available on '83 & '84 models (yes, in Canada we had BJ42s until '84)

This is a 78 fj40 that has been converted to a BJ42 due to the fact that it is a 3B engine and not a B. If it was a B engine, then it would e fair to call it a BJ40.

In reality, this is a very nice looking 78 FJ40 with a 3B diesel engine.

correction...i see that wayne says that this was in its earlier life a BJ40....my mistake...still a nice truck.

Was this purchased from Crushers?

WTB FJ45 truck

Before ya'll start with me here give me a break. I am getting ready to retire from the Army now and have been deployed most of the last 3 years. Ok, I'm just looking for one that needs alot of work. The only things i'm really looking for is the frame and tub with bed. I do not care about the rest. I have lots of parts.I have been looing for about 10 years now but now that i'm getting out of the military i have more time to look and go on a road trip. It got so bad the last time I was in Afghanistan I kept bugging this one old local to buy his from him but no sell, even after about 100 times of asking him .

PS, i live off of a military paycheck so i cannot afford millions of dollars, unless you got a really well paying job you want to give me also. ( in TN )

Thanks much for your time.

And quite laughing at me its not a joke. :) :)

Charles came to me back a while when he sold his FJ62 because of an expensive tranny repair. He then bought a Rover which he was unhappy with (there was no "Rover Wave" and asked me to build him a BJ40 but with some upgrades. He was on a tight budget so there had to be some shortcuts taken but all in all it turned out to be a really nice unit.
I would have loved to been able to put a fiberglass tub on it but the budget did not allow for it...i still view the instruction disc he made from time to time...
I'm still shocked to see him selling it...
cheers

Thanks. I am trying to understand the 29k price tag. No offense just wondering what all has been done to it to justify that cost i.e. 30k.

I really hate to see you sell it. She is a really awesome truck.
