Why would you not consider it two tone? If it has two different colors of paint, then it is considered two tone, regardless if the colors are two totally diferent colors (tones) of paint.

Do you consider your house two tone because the trim is a different color? When I think of two tone I think of the 55's or some of the 100's that are white on the top half and have a completly different bottom color. Maybe it's just me though.

Based on two emails Ive had wanting to see pics. I posted this two links for two pics of my truck.

PLZ NOTE: These pics are were last Nov. The Hood has been painted flat black. Also the tire in the pics were only 31"'s. The truck NOW has 33" MT's. There is a noticable difference in the look of the truck with the new tires.

Thanks for all the interest. Again this is a great truck at a great price. The first $3k takes her home.

Thanks,

John

78 fj55 for sale runs great usual body panel rust

Runs very well,I have never been stranded by this rig! 65 on highway, New highend tires(500.00) , reconditioned the front seat(200.00),stock engine with slight exhaust leak, rear power window did work but recently quit, new brake cylinder on drivers side all pads good condition.Maintained on a regular basis and driven once a week if parked. Main heating unit works well but have never used rear heater missing fan blade and never used. New alternator and belts (175.00). Interior has tears in liner and carpet in back is pulling up. No rust in floor boards, rust mostly in both front corner panels( can be replaced through spectra landcruiser parts bolt on panels out of CA.) and rear wheel wells and running boards( typical for ones not restored) All doors in great shape. I am the third owner of this vehicle and its’ main use has been highway miles to get to the mountains carrying kayaks and Mtn bikes. It has not been abused off road. Great project truck that still runs dependably! Good Luck Bidding Donny

I did not get any hits-what is it worthI

I paid 16 for this a year ago. I did not play the ebay game well and the truck needed work to make it mechanically sound. This last year I have replaced all of the bad stuff with really good stuff. I would like to get out of it my original investment which would mean the last year only cost about 24K. So I was stupid. Now I keep this car in NC but live in VA. My insurance company demands that I drive it into VA now and then or change where it is registered. NC says that I must be in NC 180 days a year to register it in NC. I live nearly 300 miles away which makes it a long drive. The reason you get insurance is protection-I worry that they will not honor their commitment if I do not drive it back and forth and I do not want to regularly do so. Catch 22. So what do you guys think it is worth. The engine is great. Tires and wheels are first rate. The transfer case is a rebuild. There isn't any corrosion. Is it too high? Your thoughts

Fj55 in Coeur D' Alene, ID

This guy has no affiliation to me but I drove this truck yesterday trying to determine if it was right for our "needs". I am still leaning toward the diesel 60 series wagon but I wanted to chim in that this truck is as advertised in my opinion. It drives fine, stops fine, runs well etc. I drove it for ten minutes or more and can attest to Donny being truthful and a straight shooter. Just my 2 cents.

Running gear alone is worth his price.

Yes sir, I would consider it two tone. You guys are starting to make me feel as if I am incorrectly calling a two colored car "two tone". Would someone from the paint industry please clarify? I am pretty sure I am correct, but I have been known to be wrong at times.

I thought 1978's would have been BJ40's. Is this incorrect?

Hey Wayne,

Where is your truck located? Plan on being up in the Ottawa area next month. My youngest daughter wants a 62...........

Jim

Based on the engine (3B) and the transmission 5spd it sounds like a BJ 42.

Vince
