The upper rears bind against the inside of the mount negating any compliancy the bushing affords.
Metal on metal.... it's gonna bend or snap at the weld.
Don't know how others have managed, nor can I say exactly when I've bent, but have witnessed it with brand new OE bushings at the end of the rear links capable "droop", on a lift, so can only imagine that the vehicles weight on one wheel and not the other, acts like a lever.
