I got the fabric back on the front bottoms. Now Im onto the rear seat bottom. Having a hell of a time getting the hog rings and pliers around the center wire and any of the springs. Theres barely enough room in the spring cage for my hand and arm. Did a search but didn't find much of anything.
You guys got any tips or tricks?

OK, got it. After struggling a bit I realized it would be easier if the fabric was not wrapped around anything and if I stuck the hog ring pliers in through what would be the top of the seat(foam side). My first time upholstering anything so for give my ignorance. Thought I would leave this here in case anyone in the future has a similar problem.

@Willard I had those sitting at my desk waiting for the fabric to come back to install. When I was getting ready to install last week I noticed they were no where to be found. My 3 year old was last scene playing with them. Still havent found them so I tried these...

THought they would be convenient as they hold the row of hog rings in the handle. Those 45 degree pliers would have been much nicer. HA

Yep when I did mine I looked at those as well. After starting I realized there are places they would just not work.
Putting the hog rings in the pliers each time was a little slower, but I am damn happy with the results

Do a video search on youtube and watch a few installation videos and it'll help a lot. I had never recovered any until recently and did the seats in our 62...and watching some go-bys really helped!

Yeah I usually do that with projects. Decided to make it more difficult on myself and wing it.
I do not recommend the dewalt hog pliers for this job. Live and learn

bet those hog ring pliers show up in your glove box, right where you left em...

I feel your pain and yelled the same curse words probably! hahaha. I winged it on the confidence that I had re-done my old 40 seats like 11 years ago..... I was doing well until those middle rings. I have some cheap-o hog ring pliers. Definitely makes you appreciate quality tools and being able to get into a zen like mood when dealing with frustrating situations like that. Glad you got it done!:D

So the problem with leaving stuff in your store room is your wife start stacking things on top of them.
There are a few indents from that but you get the idea.

I also still have to take the mounts off again and paint them. I had to get the seats done as I promised someone the old covers.

Looks great. SOR covers yeah? Did you reuse the original foam or go new with that too?

No they are not. Covers are from CruiserCorp I replaced the seat bottoms on the foam, those are from SOR.
I can say the vinyl in the covers is thick. at points almost to thick. Might be a good problem to have. I also picked up some extra material to do the door cards at some point.

The front backs and rears are original foam both for me looked to be in good shape with no wear points.

The rear back on mine had a ton of surface rust. so when i had the covers off I painted the whole thing as it is raw steel from the factory.

That reupholster job looks world class.

@Willard would you mind posting a picture of your latch position on the back section of the seat?
