FJ60 2lo with stock transfer case EASY mod

I may be blind, but I am not seeing the wires to cut for an FJ62 - I see 1 wire comming from a sensor on the passenger side, and another sensor has 2 wires that is kinda next to it - am I cutting 1 wire from the sensor w/ 2 wires comming out?

I wasn't going to kick start this thread from the dead, but since someone else did I might as well ask my question :cool:
 
Guys, why is everybody taking out the bracket for the 2LO mod? I just took the saw blade from a hecksaw, which with I made a slit halfway the bracket, after which I took a plier and bent the piece that everybody removes, a little towards the passenger side (for the left hand steering wheel cruisers).
Done!
Works perfect.

i just now did the 2 low mod took about a half hour start to finish, hardest part was removed and installing the boot , i left the bracket in and cut it with a sawsall with a long metal blade, then bent the bracket stop tab straight up with a large crow bar.
 
i'am so cutting that wire tomorrow that the best free mod ever will be good for towing as well :D
 
Has anyone done this mod with manual steering? Is it still ok to steer? Personally I don't mind the manual steering while in 4WD but my front diff is open. I know a selectable locker would be the better set up but I have an auto locker sitting on the floor and am on the fence of installing it in the front. My rear diff is already auto locked too btw.
 
My Bj42 has the mod it was nonpower and worked great... The control of low range and no pull on the wheel ... Great for basic trail riding

Great to hear Kling-on, thanks. How is the auto locker in front during 4WD high? My rig is only a weekend warrior from the spring to fall months so no winters btw.

It likes to go straight for sure... I try to only put in 4low when I realy need it and cruise around in 2 low most of the time

I wheel like this with my power steering truck, do what I can in 2Lo and engage the front axle only when needed. It's great, especially on tight trails, as I can make the turn while my buddies have to take 2-3 tries at it.

I do the same thing and I love the turning radius.
 
I do stop. But I also stop when I shift from 4H to 2H. I hate the sound of grinding gears.
 
Can you guys shift on the fly from 2lo to 4lo? Or do you need to come to a complete stop?

If driving straight and the tcase is not in tension, it is possible, and I do it. I've done it since I did the 2low mod in 2009 and do not remember seeing any signs of abnormal wear on the 2-4wd shift collar when I had my tcase apart last Sepember.
 
I shift from 2l to 4l on the fly and have since 07 with no issues, it is the same as going from 2h to 4h as long as hubs are locked you are good.
 
A must do mod, very easy and works great. Removed bracket, vise, Sawzall, 24 in. Crescent wrench to bend tab back.
 
Finally had the chance to do this. Super Easy! I just removed the trans access cover in the cab and used my recipro saw and chopped it.

Can row it in a box shape, jump from 2H to 2L, 4L to 2L, 2N to 4N.
