Was that you I saw today around 3:30PM on Industrial Blvd by A+ Japanese driving this red 45? Looked like it had a new coat of paint.
Not me. Maybe Joe from Pescadero?

It was Joe, have seen it several times this week!
Did he repaint it? Looked like a brand new coat of paint. I also encounter the mysterious baby blue FJ45 pickup with wooden bed slats on 92 always headed East bound from the coast.

Believe it or not, that paint is 20 years old!! I saw the blue 45 on 92 not long ago! No idea who owns it!

Do you mean this one?

No, who is that? 45’s everywhere in the bay area!
This was in the Costco parking lot in RWC.
Not sure who either but Sawyer found where it lives. In RWC too! Off middlefield.

New one for the list that I just found in of Eureka, CA. "Kermit" the FJ45LPB is headed to NY this weekend.

Was told it was a frame off restoration in 2011 (clearly never a show truck but the metal is really good and all there for sure and very clean under neath as it has been a Cali truck all it's life, check out the original Cali plate that stayed with the truck over 50 years!), so original Tan paint is unfortunately gone, but really clean rust free body and enough good solid original OEM parts for me to get this one back to a solid weekend driver. FJ60 front axel swap and power steering already done, SOR Seats done, and yes unfortunately a blueprinted Chevy 350 was swapped for the power plant in 2011 with the new green paint. Toyota 4 speed still intact along with the original rear view mirror, nice OEM steering wheel, TNK wipers, original heater and duct work and an uncut dash. Set of OEM rims and acorn hubs coming along with it that will be installed with some new 33x9.5 Kenda Klever rubber, after adding a new Iron Man Lift kit. Got to replace the OEM speedo (needed snapped off), add an OEM set of mirrors, new FJ60 Master Cylinder, swap the current FJ40 turn signals for an OEM FJ45 set, new JT Outfitter front bumper for the rebuilt 8274 Warn winch I have, a good tuneup, get her cleaned up with a fresh painted white cab top and bezel and get her back on the trails before winter sets in. Will look at doing a 1HZ diesel engine swap in 2024. Looking forward to joining the FJ45 community and learning from this rare crew! Will add a build page here when I get started to track the updated version.

Congratulations, I am about 5 hours south and saw the ad! They are getting hard to find( california born 45’s!) I like your plan of future mods and changes. I think you might like the v8 4spd combo, it really is super reliable combo and fun to drive! Any questions, hit me up, have had a dozen 45’s in every configuration!!

Congrats on your find! I agree with Whitey. Chevy V8 and 4spd is a blast to to drive!

Thx @whitey45, means a lot coming from the FJ45 OG! I will get the 350 tuned up good and stick with the current combo then. Should give me the power I will need on the street or on the trails.

@cppilot has been a great source of FJ45 advice and knowledge as I looked and considered a few options. Can wait to get this one in the garage and get cracking on it.

Nice score Paul, glad you were able to make this happen. Now the anticipation sets while you wait for it show up. Congratulations.
