Yeah super excited to be driving it!

Only thing I need to figure out after the swap is im getting a lot of engine interference over my radio. Anyone got any ideas where to start the search for the cause? Head unit is a double din Pioneer.

Good suggestions above.

Three main "noise makers" for a radio ....

1. The radio chassis is not well grounded so it using the antenna as ground. A dedicated ground to radio should fix. It should already be grounded so check for solid connections.
2. There is a radio source under the dash (e.g. blower motor) .... moving antenna cable or shielding the cable should work. Make sure the antenna cable isn't simply sitting on top of the blower motor.
3. The alternator is producing RF noise. Are you using original alternator or one from "new" engine. A swap can clean things up, if not a "filter" can be installed to fix (very cheap)

Awesome info guys thanks a bunch!!

A silly test .... find out if the noise gets louder if you tun on your lights. If issue is alternator then a heavier pull would cause a stronger RF signal.

@jfz80 has already made me an offer of $2100:flipoff2:

I'm glad Wix has been good to someone cause they certainly weren't good to me. There's no doubt in my mind that they do make some of the best filters on the market that's why I used them. I've even posted up in 80's tech telling others to use them when someone would ask which filter to buy. I do have a problem though with a company that tells me a part of the oil filter was left out during the assembly process, goes through their quality control process without being detected, and there is a very good chance that's what lead to my oil starvation. That's not just my opinion but what I was also told by a sales rep. Then to be told because it was the "wrong" filter and I had cut it open they would do nothing. I personally cannot support a business like that no matter how good their products are.

Wix was what I used in everything for the most part... no more though due to how they handled your case.... many more quality filters out there to choose from

Whohoo!!! Missed the install, congrats buddy!! Glad that motor is working out for you.

So I picked up the Engel fridge with a slide a couple years ago and I just got around to installing the slide in the 80 yesterday. Until then it’s been haphazardly flailing around between the 60, The 80 and the Tercel so I made myself take the time yesterday to mount it down. I had it in the 60 on a fishing trip with @jfz80 and @cruiser4life and it flopped over on a trail and broke my 3 best fishing rods. Even with that it still took me 6 months to do this. All hail King Getaroundtoit.

Really!? I've never had any issues with my Edgestar fridge 80qt flopping over, and never even thought it could be an issue until reading this thread. Maybe it's a weight to height issue, or just how loose you get in the turns! I will, however be making shelves and a slide for it, eventually..

Mine could be more top heavy. It doesn’t help that the fridge is usually one of the few things that I have in the truck so there’s nothing else to keep it from flopping over. Part of the reason it took me so long was I kept thinking I was going to build a drawer setup to mount it on but that’s just another thing I e never gotten around to.

The downside to doin the tires before the lift...you get to take them big heavy meats off to do the lift, then put em back on.

Those look nice.

Those wheel wells look stuffed!!

They are!! Drove it about 80 miles today with them on, mixed highway and in town and they haven’t rubbed one time. On the other hand off-road would be another story.

Nice looking.... the problem with putting tires on before a lift is actually when you lift it you will then want bigger tires. ;)

I know!!! I’ll draw my inspiration for big tire lifting from @jamesurq Wasn’t planned that way just worked out scheduling wise this way.
