No, they are a smaller taper. Cruiser Outfitters sells specific shims to go into the fj60 tapered holes so the 40 ends fit. You can also use starter shims for a less refined solution.
Or use fj60 ends and get custom links to fit the 40.

Maybe I should rephrase my question. I have fj40 tie rod from budbuilt. I have 60 series knuckles and steering arms. What rod ends can I use without adapters?

The 60 tre's have larger diameter threads than the 40. The 60 relay ends are the same as the 40's tie rods, but 40 relay ends are smaller diameters than the 60 relay rod. You might try @cruisermatt or cruiser outfitters for solutions. I looked in to this a little while ago. My quick fix were shims. Later I'm probably cutting down the 60 tie rod on the right hand thread end and tapping it for the 60 tre. I think there might be several solutions for the drag/relay rod. I run scout steering. I'll be watching if you come up with a plan.

Let me elaborate....
I put all of this together 10 years or so ago and do not recall what/if anything unusual was done to make it all work.
I currently have on my FJ40 Saginaw PS and 60 series knuckles and arms. I have a custom relay rod with GM on the Sag end. I have a stock tie rod.
I do not recall using spacers.

I have a (incomplete) set of Joint Fuji ends that I believe (are labeled) FJ60 ends (pic below). Those appeared to fit up into the steering arms when I did a quick test fit. They do screw into the BudBuilt TR properly.

Just for reference:
Stock FJ40 TR is 41.5" long
BudBuilt TR is 42" long
FJ60 TR is 44.5" long

My current need:
I have a new heavy duty "FJ40" tie rod from BudBuilt that I intend to swap on and keep my current one as a spare. I'd like to get new ends for the BB tie rod.

Is it that I just need to source (or find in my chaos) the arrowed part from the 60 set?
