FJ40 Skid Plates - what need to be protected

I'm referring to small objects ejected from the tires and obstacles while you crossing them.
In Eastern Canada trails are mostly seeped forested with allot of fallen trees, logs and many small rocks size of the palm, plus there is allot of the water crossings and mud.
Looking for a way to keep those to the minimum at the engine bay.

The skid plates in my ebay store look like the one in the "bsevans" post, except not 3/8" thick. Mine look more like the one in the "cruiserjunki" post, 3/16" thick, not over-kill, not too heavy, but will still support the weight of your vehicle with ease!!!

I've been impressed with my skid plate I agree not to heavy for me to install by myself ( not easy but doable) but has held up to all I've thrown at it

I don't know, but it is very common to lower the skid plate 1/2" to 3/4" on Chevota conversions, so I imagine anyone can lower this plate if necessary???

Guessing it would be to short to cover it all mine barely fits the 465 adaptor and 3 speed case how long is that setup?

x2 It might need some grinder time to fit with my exhaust, but it would certainly contain my t-case fluid nicely.

Just built one for the rig because the stock one doesn't fit not that the sm420 is in the rig. It's fairly easy to do with plate. I want to the metal store and got 8 plates that were in the scrap bin and started playing Tetris. Cut weld mark measure cut weld etc. I'll slap some pics up.

Anyone buy one of these. Looks good, but seems like it's missing access points for oil change etc.. That other builders have.

Has anyone modified the 4 speed skid plate for the H55F and split transfer case with the cross member?

When it was my DD and off road I got real use to the skid plate being there and would like to have it back when it is ready to drive again.
