Huh? You have to pull out the heater duct in front of the passenger's feet. It should not take one minute once that's out of the way. There's only one fuse on that side.

I must be blind, I did pull out the heater duct. There was nothing that looked like a fuse, but it is kind of messy with bedliner overspray up there. I'll look again tonight, if I cannot find it, I will take some pictures. Thanks.
So I found my fuse, alongside the control box. For me , it was under the dash on the drivers side, just to the right of the steering column. Sure enough, my fuse was blown. I don't have any 5amps on me, so I can't test it tonight, but hopefully that will fix it.
Edit: it works! Was just the fuse.
I just looked to the right if the steering column and there it was, yellow tape and all. My LC was built in June of 79. How about yours? Maybe the later model ones are all by the steering column. Did they use the yellow tape to make it easier find fuses all over the vehicle? Thanks again.![]()

I'm wondering if it would just be better to etch a new PCB with a modern relay/controller on it and relocate the connector to the new one to have a drop-in replacement. We'll see.
That would be way cool!
Good to know. Mine are '76 and '78.
Are you saying that your 78 fj40 fuse is to the right of the steering column? I can see some yellow tape to the left of the steering column but do not feel anything that feels like a fuse inside the wiring. I found the 5a fuse near the cooling fan relay and replaced that, no luck getting it to work. Thanks
Hello Folks,
My 79 carb fan is not working either, manually test the carb fan is working.
I just not sure how that carb fan suppose to work. Fan control relay board looks good no signed of burning any thing, good solder joints.
Any help or provide a diagram for the 79 will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
