Thanks Rusty!
I might just do that, so I dont have to bother the lil woman!
I got speed bleeders which makes things easier too!
Hey, did you just hit my house with a rock?!

Chicago

This thing totally works! I just bled my Tacoma front brakes in 5 minutes, by myself...

Hey all,
Did some work today...
I spent many HOURS under the rig trying to figure a way to mount a x member for the trac bar...I came up with one conclusion...I need to enlist some help from someone else!
Everything I came up with hung too low under the fram rails. Now, this can be made better, but Ill need someone to bend up some tubing for me...In order for this to happen, Ill need to be able to DRIVE the rig, and In order to drive the rig, Ill need to have the traction bar brackets already mounted to the housing. So that is what I got accomplished today. I got the Ruff Stuff trac bar brackets ground, fit and tacked in to place on the housing, and, I was also able to mount my lower shock mounts I got from Sky MFG. tacked in!
Soooo, the good new is, she should be up and out on the road by next weekend, if not, darn close to it!:bounce: :bounce2: :bounce: :bounce2:
Then I can flex it, measure shocks and do all the fine tuning stuff before I wheel her....
HOT DAMN im excited!

Here's the pics!

Here's a couple of the lower shock tab tacked in as well!
Now, Ill just pull the housing out again, finish the welding, do the last bit of cleaning, paint and re assemble the rear end!

We were up behind the water tank taking pictures for :princess: digital class, I thought I saw a glow coming from your garage.

Nice job, I may need to copy the shock mounting tabs.

Dylan, good to meet you and your Dad. If I neglected to say it, sweet 60 you got there.

Oh and about the brake thing, :flipoff2: how can I drink Chicagos beer if I don't go over to give him a hand?

Youre wlecome to copy them!!! They are a really nice product, and they fit around the housing PERFECTLY!
All I did was bevel the edges, mark my positions, level em up and tack em on!
Another thing is, they are dead aligned with the upper mounts. I thought I was gonna have to grind em a bit, but they are good the way they came.
Well, now that you know where I live. Stop on by and drink more of my beer. Im in there most weekend days, and some eves during the week and the "beer fridge" is always stocked!

Thanks for the props gents!!!
Im so excited at the prospect of having her on all fours wheels, and driveable by next weekend!!!
Hopefully I set it all up right and wont have any major surprises on the maiden voyage!

Rusty,
Will you be available next weekend?
I think Ill take you up on the brake bleed assistance!
Most likely Sunday, unless I can get a bunch done during the week!

Saturday is the Eldorado run but I'm free Sunday as far as I know.

If you are ready I could come over almost any night except Thursday, thats the ham class night.

I'm also off Fridays.

OK!
Thanks!
I got the rear end done, painted and back on the rig with the u bolts torqued, and got the brake lines in...
All I have left on the rear is to set the drums up and hook up the e brake!
Soooo sometime this week in the evening might be doable!

Thanks Rusty!

One more of the rear end!
SOApics 106.webp

Two things on the rear end that are bugging me...
ONE, is that where the trac bar brackets are mounted, there was NO WHERE for the e brake line to run, so I HAD to run it through the middle of it. If you look closely at the pic above youll see it...With that being said, it wont interfere with the trac bar when its in, I just dont too much like the position of it...
TWO, I got the PN's for the long brake lines from napa...For the rear, it was long enough, but still too short to make me un easy about it ripping out. So I coupled a shortie line from the front on the long napa line and it gave it some more room to stretch out, I just hope it isnt TOO LONG now.
Just some little bugs that need working out!
If you all think of anything or see anything you think might be a problem, please post up and lemme know!

Thanks
