Well, new carb is on! Thanks to mark!!! It’s awesome!!!!! But I need to adjust the timing... so.. I’ll have to haul it to Tucson the alternate way.... uhaul.... but I have a friend willing to help me out. Sad to say it won’t be on cowboys own power, but I’ll have him with me.

I need a little assistance, I’ve found Threads on firing order, and I’ve looked in the repair manual, but what is the piston order? 1 in front? Going 1-6 front to back? Or is it different. I’m trying to double check my spark plug wiring.

#1 is front of engine closest to thermostat housings

#6 is at your fire wall end of a 2F

its that simple and never changes ...........

Ok. So the wires On the distributor didn’t correspond to the stark plugs they where going to. I sorted that out.. now there is no spark.. and I didn’t take a picture of the before...

ALL OEM TOYOTA Distributer Caps are Numbered on top , so #1 cap , plug wire port goes to #1 cylinder etc ...........

it's a flawless plug and Play perk toyota started from day one ........

if you did not buy a OEM genuine parts cap ?

then ...................?

someone else can chime in and better explain how to sort out the fire order

in relation to the cap ports , ..........

it would be vert TECH tricky for me to explain ...

I should have oem parts... there’s no reason why I don’t. It looks all stock that I can tell.

It appears that wire goes to an after market igniter, that runs threw the oem igniter, that runs to the distributor...

ITS RUNNING! Lol. Timed it. It has a bit of a burp, but I think that’s exhaust. That will get sorted when I get the exhaust replaced with something more oem...

It still doesn’t sound right. I’ve been adjusting the idle speed. I think I’m slowly dialing that in. But it’s still sounding a little odd...

did you find out why the oem NippinDenso Coil was abandon and the Track Auto one used in its place ?

Seth , if your OEM coil is bad , PM me i can set you up right , with a factory one

there price point is a good value ..........

now if your igniter is bad , thats a whole different ball if wax , and would

involve a Higher price point power like SOR ...........

glad to see your Cap and rotor are OEM ND parts


did u flip it over , your outside of cap looks , well ..............gracefully aged

if your contact points are burnt then that could be a cause ?

I've got a supply of brand new NipponDenso distributor caps and rotors, as well as many other NOS parts, for 01/75 through 09/77 2F distributors. Can you see the Toyota part number on the side of your distributor? It should be on a decal on the side below where the rotor is pointing in your second photo on Post #209. 19100-61021?

I got the exhaust system replaced! Finally. It sounds so much better and isn’t pointed at my rear driver tire.

If you don't mind me asking, How much was a new exhaust? is a custom exhaust from an exhaust shop? I am looking at getting one done and I would like to know what other people have been paying.

@Wyatt Pine it was 450. I did provide a diagram from Toyota to help them.

You got ripped off. I had a new exhaust built from the manifold to the rear including muffler for $160. Plus it looks alot better than that setup.
