Hi @miller - did you need to support the body when you remove the firewall? I am prepping to do this same thing tomorrow and would love to ensure I don’t warp the body.

I have removed the entire front floor already. I have some gnarly rust and have the replacement real steel lower file wall. Do I support under the rocker panel or am I good to cut this part out and replace?

I did not support mine. The firewall string and floor support are tied together. Nothing moved.

Ah ok - I removed that entire support as well, as the new piece I'm installing has it already in place. But looking at it, I think I should be fine to proceed without supporting as well.

Installed front patch. Put some red primer and rustoleum camo to try and match patina. I think I need to do something different.

Where the floor was original spot welded, did you drill a hole and then do a plug weld yo secure the patch panel in place?

Passenger floor welded in and rear rocker patch. Hopefully get floors finished by the end of the weekend.

Passenger floor done. Need to fab up some fuel tank strap brackets.

3 hours of grinding and some welding floors done. I have a piece of drivers rocker coming from donor, tranny hump needs work and tool box needs work. Next weekend.

I am tracking the exact same project on my 40 right now too. I just fit the entire front floor and welded the lower fire wall last weekend. Do you have donor metal for the hump as well or are you fabbing something up?

I bought a good tranny hump but it does not fit on passenger side. I need to cut area out around floor hump and re weld.

If the bolt holes line up you might try holding it in place with longer bolts and washers and hammer it into submission. Once close you can remove and then smooth out with a hammer and dolly.

Good call Byron! I did knock a few rust holes in it but easy fix!
