Looks like a GREAT time man! Took the fam to Monterey, while that was great, I soooooo wish I was there!

Very cool pics man. Gotta say that front bumper makes that 4Runner look way less stupid.

Thanks! And yeah that is a cool 4runner, I'm pretty sure that will be our next daily driver.

Guessing Luke's truck is the red 80? Haven't seen that front bumper before.

Yup that's his. And I haven't seen it either but I really like it. All weekend I've been thinking of selling my AOE to run this one.

Oh I see how it is! Thanks for the invite! Lol

I know man, my bad! Wish we could have had more guys come along. I didn't make the plans to go until late Friday night when I flew back I'm from San Diego. Next time, no excuses!

That bumper on the red lc is sick! Who makes it?? Not that I could convince the wife to let me buy another bumper while I sell my AOE hahahaha

That's 4x4 Labs. Talked to Luke, he said it's an early prototype he built, and has made slightly different versions of it. He doesn't advertise them though. He said he could CAD anything you could dream of, if you're willing to pay for it! The guy has serious fab skills.

That is awesome looking wheeling trip! The 80 makes the 4runner looks like a straight up mall crawler even with all the upgrades, both 80s hardly lift a tire where the runner needed intervention.
It was more the line he took, but he did pretty good for his first wheeling trip to some rocks. Its setup pretty well: arb's, 4.56s, oba, dual batt, 4x4labs armor front, rear and sliders. Not an 80 though!! :grinpimp:

Looks like a fun trip. Hard to believe there is very little snow on the ground. Ran Fordyce one May about 10 years ago and never made it to the first water crossing. Too much snow melt.

Yeah! Although I was very impressed with that 4runner. Handled everything with ease really, he just took a bad line on that spot like Finny said. I had to back up a few times myself on that obstacle. That 4Runner might not be the flexiest, but let's face it, neither is the 80. I'd have no issue making a 5th gen a trail rig, but we want one for a daily driver :)

That New 4runner almost looks like an upgraded cruiser. Wonder what the spec comparisons are on the size of the new 4's vs the 80's.

Here's what I found according to Edmunds. They are very close in overall dimensions. I know people hate the look of the new 4Runners, but I think it's the best to-date and Toyota's best looking new vehicle.

2013 4Runner
Length: 189.9"
Width: 75.8"
Height: 71.5"
Wheelbase: 109.8"
Curb Weight: 4,400 lbs

1996 Land Cruiser
Length: 189.8"
Width: 76.0"
Height: 73.2"
Wheelbase: 112.2"
Curb Weight: 4,760 lbs
