Dude, looks pretty good to me.
Sort of a "silk purse out of a sow's ear" kinda deal, but a pretty/clean motor is a happy motor  I like it. John

Exactly

I think it'd be interesting to see how the engine runs with the improvements you've already made before you add the supercharger.

Exactly. I'm looking at it as a good thing for sure. How many people actually get this opportunity? I'd even be wiling to get it dyno'd before and after just for the fun of it. So long as I have the time and can find the shop that has a four wheel dyno.

So what's happened with the engine rebuild? Did it get put back together and into the vehicle? If so, how's it run? You've kind of left us hanging here, Joey.

Sorry folks. I'm actually about to head to the airport now for Costa Rica.

I do have some small updates though.

The block is being bored out right now.

I don't know how Martin keeps his shop so clean ....

The head was being assembled when I was there. They took out a few valves so that I could take a few pics. There was zero time for me to port and polish but Martin said he would give it two hours of love. He ported all the bowls and the runs but didn't polish. I was ok with it. He removed all the rough sides and got rid of all the casting marks. Feels nice and smooth.

Whos doin your 1fz?.....& how much?

Martin Davidson. He does all the HiPo 2Fs for Man a Fre.

Not sure what the total bill will be for the rebuild but in the neighborhood of 5k. Maybe more.

The new head looks fantastic! I shipped the head off my 3FE down to Martin in 2008 and he did his magic on it. I was very happy with his work. At the time I had an unexplained valve adjustment issue that a few people had looked at but couldn't figure out. Martin discovered the problem (a severely worn adjuster ball seat on one of push rods) and, once I put everything back together, my motor has been running fine ever since.

Thanks for the update. :)

Martin has been awesome. He was the "competition" for my uncle and I back when I was rebuilding motors. So he's been doing this now for at least 25 years. He is open to all suggestions but when he is adamant about something being a bad/stupid/dangerous idea, he is right there to say NO and why. I love it.
