Had not really done too much in between the trips but it was time to head back to Kentucky for the 4th Annual KTTR. Always a fun time, didn't take too many pics though.

Stopped by BT on the way and picked up my three month allocation.

Whats Pappy going for these days with inflation running wild? $5k?

I think the 23 year is, I've never owned a bottle though of any of them. I have tried them all, best bang for the buck was the 15 year.

We stayed at Wanoka Lake Campground that night, I liked that place. We let the dogs go swimming even though the water was off. Well I think we actually lucked out with that one, a week later I read about blue-green algae in Wisconsin killing some dogs. Gotta be careful.

How is the stove mounted in this pic? I’m trying to figure out how to set up a kitchen for quick access for easy hot lunches and quick site setup

Little update:

In August 2023 we did the WYBDR.

We did all four hard sections, the last was the most difficult. Here are a few pictures.

Not sure why i missed this post before, i love build threads. You went all out with this one brother and it looks so good. What's the driving characteristics like after all the add ons and the smiles per gallon?

Well, the mpgs aren't too bad unless you are on the highway with a headwind. I think there were times that I was at 10mpg.

Drives very nicely otherwise.

2024 started off with grand plans. Slee finally released the revised rear bumper for the 100 and I sold my Dissent to get ready for ordering the Slee. I also noticed that they introduced a V2 of the Blueberry front bumper so V1 was pulled and also sold. That was all done in January.

Then February hit.

Wife was coming home from her parents and fell asleep 89 minutes into a 90 minute drive. She was less than a mile from home. She totaled the 200.

She survived a rollover without so much as a scratch.

Unfortunately she was also almost eight months pregnant. She was taken to the ER by a responding ambulance and everything checked out and they kept her overnight for observations. She was released the next morning. A few days later she went for a followup and they admitted her because baby was showing some distress. Emergency C-section and baby was brought into the world five weeks early.

Without getting into details we have spent over two months worth of nights in hospital rooms from the initial extended NICU stay to multiple return trips to PICUs for other medical emergencies for the little one. There have been overnights at four hospitals, two 911 calls that lead to ambulance rides, and countless dr appts. We found out this week that he will need a lifetime of special care unfortunately, but we are optimistic that his condition is not a severe one.

In the last 16 months I am just over 900 miles driven in my 100, I had to think where we went and that was to PA in Sept 2023 for the PA Wilds BDRx. It wasn't that great. In 2024 my 100 never left the garage.

Glad that one is done.

Heartbreaking about the accident and special care required. Glad to hear your wife and son are alive though. Accidents are so scary when they’re pregnant.

Forgot to mention that after the WYBDR and that last hard section I decided it was time to get a rear locker. Went with the Eaton E-locker and while in there had the U-joints replaced, the shafts all cleaned from old grease, and new axle seals. This was Sep 2023. Work was not done by me, this one was handed off to Specialty 4wd in Walton, KY. Thanks Luke.

Wired into the Switch Pro makes it nice and clean.

Dec 2024 ordered up the new Slee bumpers, the revised rear and the V2 Blueberry front.

Decided the go with the Rigid 20" Midnight E-Series Pro for the front bumper. Also, instead of fogs I'm running Baja Designs infrareds. Wiring is next and will add more on that once those mods are done along with all four sides of the roof rack getting lights.

I thought I took a picture but I didn't. The rear frame was cleaned and coated with POR15 prior to installing the Slee rear bumper.

Slee put a lot of work into packaging, these both arrived on a double wide pallet each and when you open them up it's obvious they take packing them safely seriously.

The thread is caught up now, next step will be to finish up the wiring for all of the lights and then have a multitude of small things to get done for another trip. August 2025 will be roughly 27 days out in it. We are doing a hybrid ID/MT/WY trip that will hit a lot of the two BDRs and also some ghost towns. Purpose is to get the family out this time and we are scouting for property for the future. Route is already planned out and mapped out on Gaia, looking just short of 6000 miles iirc. We are also going to GNP, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, central Wyoming and probably a zoo in Omaha on the way home.

So before August I need to complete the following...

Drain and Fill Transmission fluid
Wire up new lighting
Switch Mod to defeat DRLs when desired
Decide on some type of light for left/right and rear of roof rack.
Install said lights
Obtain/Install Slee jerry can basket
Basic pre-Trip Maint (oil change, filters, etc)
R&R Kenwood HAM for MARS mod
Clean up electronic device mounts
Move Switch Pro control panel
Install USB charging points in rear of center console
Install Escape Gear seat covers for 2nd row
Complete purchase of remainder of recovery gear

TBC...

Bro it's heartbreaking to hear about your wife's accident and the newborn, i just became a father myself for the first time recently. He got covid at 2 months old and he's still coughing up randomly 8 months later. I pray for your child's full recovery, miracles happen! I told myself i wasn't gonna do anything much to this LX but seeing this thread gave me a major itch to at least get sliders and a rack and buildout a platform for camping. Gotta wait until son turns at least 2 before we can do that so i got time.

@Dparo thoughts and well wishes for your missus and the baby. That 200 did it's job - things are replaceable, people aren't.

New bumpers look great!

keeping your family in our Thoughts @Dparo I cant fathom the stress that 2024 has brought you and your family. Keep your head up and always moving forward

A little update…

Big trip in two weeks, ~6500 miles through ID/MT/WY. Most will be on non-asphalt roads. We have previously done the entire ID/WY BDRs including all difficult sections of the Wyoming and we will be hitting some parts of those trails and some new. Ghost Towns are on the list and we are scouting for properties for after retirement.

Added the Lexus switch that folds in the mirrors to use as a DRL defeat, only problem is the thread on here are from early MY 100s and not later, so still searching out that one. Switched the battery monitor to Powerwerx and my eyes appreciate the reds more than the blues that were in there previously.
