The turn signal is a regular bulb. The brake and running lamps are LED.This on the left rear taillight only. There is 12volts at the connector entering the taillight housing.Pre 2006-07 uses regular bulbs instead of LED’s.If there is no way to repair a complete assembly is required…I just had a case where I spent 10 hours diagnosing. Pulling & testing each fuse, running light, finding a few bad bulbs. Which some have reported bulb was cause. In this case, it was not a fuse (although fuse keep blowing), bulb or socket.
It turn out to be, a clipped wire under the dash. Someone, installed a trailer brake assist, and clipped a factory wire. They left wire, just hanging without capping. No issue for 10 years, until wires moved to install other device. The clipped wire moved, and now touched bare metal, popping tail fuse.
I too attempted the aftermarket when I installed 06-07 taillights on my 2005. I went with the "Eagle Eye" brand and found the right side failed in about a year, the left side failed around year two. Both had missing LED segments or odd LED flickering in the lower brake light area. I ordered all four OEM lights and it's been about five years now with no issues. This has become somewhat of a nightmare. The eBay lamp assembly was garbage so back it goes.Called a dismantler and they wanted $150 +$45 shipping,so I elected to go with a new one.Contacted my Lexus dealer expecting $250 and was quoted $206 for a new one with free shipping. I now realize that this is where I should have started and not where I ended.
