Added the 2nd row Escape Gear seat covers. Usually I run a 2nd row delete with a platform but being this is a family trip there are going to be three carseats, hauling a 4YO/almost 3YO/18 month old. Should be interesting. I already know which one is going to cause the most tension.

Added the USB-C Powerwerx chargers with a dedicated source. One note if you add these in this spot I found that due to their added length over the standard USB I had to 90* solder them.

Added the Rigid Midnight E Series Pro 50” and 20”. The 50 is very tight and I had some interesting custom bracket work that took a bit of time to work out but all done. I think the 50 blends in well, both are bright.

Also in the bumper I installed Baja Designs IR lights for some stealth night driving.

Winch is Warn Zeon Platinum 12-S with Factor 55 components.

On edit: Trip above cut very short due to a fuel boiling issue. Lots of changes coming. Starting to think I am spending too much on an almost 20 year old “soccer mom” vehicle.

Ok, on to winter projects, very long list.

First is to address my electrical system mainly to get things away from the radiator.

Currently running both Slee battery trays with an Odyssey Group 31 as the Primary and an X2 Power Group 35 as the secondary.

A lot of this was a speed install and I always wanted to circle back to cleaning up the wiring.

And my biggest issue was there is too much installed in front of the radiator, so that pushed this to the top of the priority list in my mind. Quick installs are fine for the short term but in the long term they expose bigger issues, which I found out when my fuel started to boil.

Now I do need some advice if anyone has run the Redarc Management Systems, I am considering one. I do believe it is overkill and I will not utilize it appropriately so that’s why I need more info. I don’t need tank levels, etc.

I already run exterior lighting off my Switch Pro and see no reason to not do so. My only real justification for changing from it is that I can use it on my 80 when that build gets going. I just don’t know enough about the Redarc to be able to make an informed decision.

What I am going to do is an a 2000w inverter, a 320ah lithium battery, and move my winch solenoid to where the 2nd AGM battery is now as that will go away. I will power the winch off my primary and also move my stereo system back to the primary. Everything in the back will be off the lithium, NL fridge, inverter, starlink, and RTT power. I am tired of lugging my Goal Zero up there every night and with small kids getting bigger space is limited. I run a CPAP so 110vac is necessary.

Lithium battery will be installed in the space open under the TrekBoxx wing.

And I am thinking the inverter and disconnect can be installed on the Trekboxx behind the seats.

Or my preferred option would be to install everything on a panel I will make on the side of the Trekboxx cage.

@Dparo

I was going to respond to your Redarc question but did not, because I don’t have direct knowledge of the Redarc system. A local buddy uses one in his AT Habitat / Tacoma and I found the install to be less than intuitive. I went Victron and gave it detailed here.

Aside from the wire that runs from the starter battery to the rear cargo area, all of the components are mounted to the ARB drawer set which would allow me to remove as a component if something ever happened to my 2006. The Victron components are bulletproof, easily configurable for your battery chemistry and if you use a LiFePo with a Bluetooth enabled BMS, you can easily monitor amps in and out.

The only inconvenient limitation to my set up is no solar MPPT direct connection. Victron does not sell a combo dc/dc charger with a built in MPPT. I haven’t found this to be an issue as the 100 ah LiFePo has more than enough capacity to keep the fridge running for my idle time between trips. YMMV

Hit me up if you’d like to discuss further.

I bought the Redarc Combo Manager 30 package that they just had on sale. I am working on putting my interior back together now and will be coming up with a plan to build out a panel to mount everything to the side of my Trekboxx fridge cage. I will probably be also installing an emuwing for accessibility. My biggest problem atm is having places to bring in cables for the lighting and external power to the rear. There are a couple of grommets but both are under my cabinets slides so I may be able to route the smaller diameter cables through them but the largest will probably have to need a hole created. I am looking at doing so right next to the threaded hole that was for the 3rd row seatbelt anchor point.

Drilling extra holes hurts my brain, unfortunately the usable space between the cabinets and the wheel well is somewhat limited.
