If it weren't a Toyota and a 4 speed I would not have bought it.
1978 Toyota Chinook Omega
53k miles, 20R with a 4 speed, in incredible original condition.

This is awesome. I've always wanted one of these. I wonder if there are any suspension lift options to give some relief to the rear?
It actually has a on the fly air bag system in the rear that actually works, its pretty slick.

With the angle of the pic along with the overhang on the rear wheel well it might look saggy but its not at all. You could add enough air to the rear to give it weird rack if you want to.

That's even better. So this is a slow lane special with that 20R?

Definitely!
It actually does better than what I expected as far as "acceleration" but you dont want to run much over 60-65 mph.
The savior is the stick, with that I would not of even gone to look at it. Its actually kind of fun to drive, makes me want a stock 2wd '78 truck.

Could always do the 3.4 swap
:worms:

A 3.4 swap, solid axle swap and some 35's would make this thing BA! Cool rig, welcome to the mini club!

s*** if I could grab it I would..that'd be the perfect candidate for the 3.4L swap & a SAS...

No title is a deal breaker.

No title is a deal breaker.

I've had to do bonded titles before here in AZ. They're not too bad. I actually had to get one for my 85 F-250 since my dad lost it years ago!

Not saying that it's easy everywhere, but here in AZ it's a pretty painless process...just really drawn out.
