Pulled the wiring harness out to figure out how to mount the fuse block.

Bolt on collar! Genius!.. And now you have a removable steering column again! Firewall bearing come in yet?

Yeah... a really smart guy gave me that idea.... Thank you sir...

Figured out a mount that would work for the original tundra ignition switch. And mounted the fuse box

Spent a bunch of time working on the driver seat mount. After countless hours on the Internet trying to find an under seat storage box that used most of the 5 inch hide the space I went back to my scrap pile and found this... it was about three-quarter inch too tall so I chopped it all up and reinforced it so it’s strong enough to hold the seat. About four hours of time in it but it’s gonna work out great.

Then it was time to take the tub off and finish up all the welding and hopefully get the sand blasters quick!!!

on that under seat storage, I am looking to get a lock, like the tuffy center console. so when it is closed, you have to push the button to open it. if you want to lock it you can also do that. My point is that I don't want to lock it every time, and when shut, I don't want it to just slide out. Anyone know where I can get something that will do that? Tuffy pry-guard II locking system will be perfect..... but I can't find them separately sold.

you should be able to buy one from Tuffy. When I bought my used Tuffy console it did not have a key. They did not have a replacement key on hand, so they sent me a new lock and I bought another one to add to my glovebox. That way I only needed 1 key and could lock both.

I like having a combination lock personally rather than a key lock. That's just me though.

given the spot, you will not be able to see it very well. I was first headed down the path of a fingerprint scanner.....

The point of this is that when you shut it, it will be latched, (you don't have to actually lock it every time) so will not come out until you push the button in. so it won't fly out and hit your shins when you brake hard.

No pictures, but made great progress yesterday, welded the steering thing in final and got all the weld nuts done. I need to bend up some aluminum for the heat shields and figure out mounting points and then we should be ready for sandblasting...

Heat shields cut bent and captured nuts and installed. this is some really neat stuff and it came off of a Toyota powered lotus... Thanks to @cjmoon !! Probably need another half sheet if you come across more!

Man I should have been thinking ahead. Recycled 10+ last year cleaning out the lotus shop. Kept what I thought was a life time supply. Damn, need to look in the storage might be more.

@cjmoon I'm game for some as well if you come across some more. I have something similar I'm using.

Had a blast on the 4th. Sandblast!!
