Did 55’s ever come with front axles that didn’t have locking hubs? (1 Viewer)

Whatever those tires are, I want them.
Super Swallows. 7.50-16 They are made in Indonesia. They appear to be DOT compliant but I have no idea if you can find them in the US.

4wd is achieved several different ways by Toyota and others. More modern designs include auto-locking hubs (GM has this on some vehicles, maybe Toyota uses too on modern 70 series), automatic disconnecting differential (Tacomas and maybe tundras), etc. so just because a (modern) front axle doesn’t have a manual locking hub doesn’t mean its front end is rotating all the time.

But 80s that are full time go 80 all day with the front spinning away :)
