It's on the passenger's side in the engine bay. I think it's on the firewall. I think it was moved to the fender when the heater blower was added. Did you did connect the horn becasue they wouldn't shut off? then there a good chance that's your drain. The amp draw of the horn is more then the horn button can handle so a relay is used. I don't want to search back thru a hunderd pages in your thread to find a picture. How about a new picture of the right side of the engine bay. I know the early ones had a metal cover. My 68 was plastic so not sure which your 64 has.

Ah black ( now metal after age ) square housing with a 3 wire terminals on the bottom, i bet that is it, i take a photo in a sec, gonna run to the store and get a battery shut off switch while the battery charges.

The horns never worked so i never reconnected them :)

So i might not be the relay, it was just the first thing that jumped out at me from the wiring diagram :D

Chances are if the horn relay is drawing any amperage it will be warm to the touch. When the horns don't work most the time the problem is the button or the wire going thru the column.

this is the horn relay yeah?

Also, is there supposed to be an extra wire coming of the far left terminal of the voltage regulator? I know one of them is NOT the amperage wire, as it is not connected right now.

??

yeah clutch master is leaking too hehe, oy

Also noticed a wire came off the dimer switch again, need to figure out where it goes onto, 4 wires go to the dimmer switch, one is disconnected...
which terminal gets 2 wires on the floor mounted dimmer switch>
?

The first two pictures are of the horn relay. The closest thing I have to your 64 is my 65 FJ45. Beside it having a alternator it no longer here (moved to cold storage). I will have to wait until I'm home to check diagrams. But on your voltage regulator that a aftermarket one correct. Does it work with a generator?

yeah it is an after market voltage regulator.
The battery shop down the street installed it, I am assuming it is correct...

How can I tell haha :D ?

I hate electricity :: shakes fists :: :: yells at street lights ::

If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's an electrical problem;)

what are you guys using for spark plug gap btw?

one of my FSM says between .028 ~ .031" while the other says .036~

which is correct for a 64?

What FSM are you using? I have at least six FSMs for Land Cruisers but most will be wrong for the F135. Tonight I will check the 62 and 66FSM. Hopefully they are the same since the engine was a F135 during those years.

I think I would go by the the manual in the picture. The F engine was made for a lot of years. From before every being imported to the US to the 74 F155. The earliest model I remember sdding was a F105. I know a few of my FJ25s had a F120.

Also that manual should have wiring diagrams in the back. My 62 FSM does. I'm curious are the front turn signals shown as dual sided lenses? Not uncommon for Toyota to use old pictures in newer manual. My 62 manual shows FJ25 wheels on a FJ40.

oy have not been posting much lately hehe, work and house work keeping usbusy

progress on the back porch!

Need to wait for a few days of dry weather to let things dry up to prime etc.
Have some press board on the treads to protect them until it is close to time to prime :)

Kinda a swampy mess right now because of the rain, but i post after photos down the line :)

From my Toyota Factory F Engine Repair Manual (1972), spark plug gap is 0.028-0.031"

Don't know if that helps or not.

I set em at .035" yesterday, seem ok...
What do all you earlier f135 motor cats gap yours at?

Should i gap em for later 1972 gap specs?

Thanks The911s :)

61 thru 67 F135.
68 thru 71 F145 engine.
72/73 early F155 engine.
74 late F155 (improved oiling system).

Your F155 is two engine changes later.
