Hi all

I have two dif FSM for my 1964 fj40 with a F135 motor in it.

The one manual form 1963 says the spark plug gap should be .036"

While the F engine repair manual ( copyright 1970 ) says .028 ~.032 "

My reflex would be to use 1963 manual and go with .036"

BUT, my obsessive compulsive nature wants to be sure haha.

So post up your tune up specs for your f135 motors please

1) spark gap
2) point gap
3) dwell
4) timing advance
5) anything else that would be awesome.

64 owners manual
1. .9mm or .035in
2. .5mm or .02in
3. 38-44
4. 7 BTDC @ 500 rpm

1966 F engine manual
1. .8-.9mm or .031-.035
2. .4-.5mm or .016-.020in
3. 38-44
4. 7 BTDC @ 500rpm

Usually you can advance it to 10-12 or even more whole adjusting the carb for optimal vac

cool set it per 64 manual

1) 0.35in - plug gap ( fresh plugs )
2) .17in - point gap ( new points )
3) 42 - dwell
4) 7 BTDC @ 650 rpms ( was told this is a little more optimal, 650 rpms )
- running about a degree or more advanced than BTDC actually

5) new rotor, old one was fitting kinda loose...

about 19-20 pounds vacuum running at operating temps

runs well warm!

Will see how it runs cold start :)

Thanks man :D
