As far as i know mine never had a cig lighter.
Mine does not have a hole for one at least :)

The 65 might have had one...
Can some one verify?

I def need to find a 1964 under the dash shots to see what holes i need to weld up as the PO had installed an aftermarket heater...

AFIK cigarette lighter we not stock until 1968 PO or dealer installed option my 66 came with the lighter installed where the room light switch was.
I just installed a new lighter where the old one was, nice accessory since I do off road my classic. :p

Heaters in US market must have came from the factory in 1965,that said SOR list part back to 1963 maybe as an option from I have gathered.

I have lots of running around today as the girls "Family" B-day party is tonight at a local pizza joint.

Do you have FB? I have the funniest story from last nights drunken bar BS with young bar benders and a hot a friend of mine. I posted it all last night, while drunk.

Isnt the top a light color? The white might look good with the top on...(hint hint)...I agree that the black will wear better.....may even be more pleasing to the eyes......If I had those running boards I'd do white just so It'd match my 40 so I understand your going with black on yours.....
 
took the beast out for a cruise today :D

runs like a champ, only down side is starting and idling...
basically need to crank forever for starts, and rev it up and keep some throttle on when idling...
But damn does it have power :D
Basically i think it is getting to much fuel.

I think the float gets stuck open ( gas goes way past the line in the carb window )
I know the float is not the stock float for the 1bbl carb, it was one modified from a 2bbl carb ( cut and sealed )

Since the early 1bbl carb floats are discontinued , I need to look out for a used one or a used carb to yank it from. If anyone has any leads let me know ( i might have a lead on one but will not find out until monday :( )
 
Are they not brass?

The tabs cant be bent for proper lever?

At idle where does the fuel in the bowl height at?

The carb just needs to be adjusted, spray carb clean around and check for vacuum leaks.

Linn is super smart and will help you, best is he's fair/cheap and a super freak of knowledge.
 
I think his had a leak he fixed in his float or something.....?....

edit: duh, I just read all of his post about his float being out of a 2bbl.....
