thanks guys

Yeah maybe i will flop the canvas top over the bows today and take a few shots.
Need to get the door canvas soon and start assembling the soft doors :)

Alex, did you get a chance to send out the door canvas to match my top?

:D

ok updates :D

Bill sent me a fuel pump ( thanks man! :D )

Hooked it up, poured some fuel down the carb, and started it, did this 3 times before the battery went dead, but still no fuel in the carb window :(
But the engine sounded great :D

Put the battery on 2 amp trickle charge for over night, and gonna try fresh in the morning :D
If i cannot get the fuel to prime tomorrow, i am gonna pull the bench seat and inspect the fuel tank out let and poke a screw driver in it and see if i have any blockages...
But hopefully all should be well :D

I am convinced now that it is not so much a pump problem, but lack of primed lines or blockage.

If any one has any advice please chime in :D

If you do not have fuel in the glass bowl Bust the fuel filter loose and fuel should flow freely if not try to blow some compressed air through the fuel line back to the fuel tank listen for bubbles, you may have junk in the tank if thats clear then blow air from the filter to the carburetor with fuel line detached from the carburetor you may have some junk or something.

BTW the Seat covers look awesome as the whole rig can't wait to see the soft top on !

Sound advice man, I check the lines with the compressor if i cannot get it to fire with a fresh battery tomorrow :D

Wanna get this beast running :D

Destin,

Pull the line off the fuel pump at the firewall side and use adapter to pump with barb, install needed line to bottle water bottle with fuel and crank and see if the pump will prime.

It work for me tonight on my project that has been dormant for some time, as soon as fuel filled the bowl she lit off and purred, I was beside myself as it was totally unexpected.

nice man!

Ok i gotta get this fawker running :D

meh!!!!

So hand primed the fuel pump off the block with the cam lever with fuel right before the pump from a bottle, was able to get fuel in the bowl, but after i put it together ( onto the block ( and started it up, it did not continue to pump outta the bottle,

Even hand priming from the bottle off the block, it would pump then stop having prime or pump even though the hose was submerged...

Tried to hand prime it from the tank too, no dice...

Oy this is becoming a head ache, no way these things are that hard tp prime, i mean tons of them came form the factory and the dealerships filled em up and started them :(

( shane sorry my damn phone died )

What the hell am i doing wrong here?

So your pump was intermittently working when it wasnt on the block and you were bottle feeding it?

Don't you have an extra pump at this point you could try?

All the autozone napa etc. generic and BA are kyokian Densi which is oem. you don't need a spacer pre79. just check the box before you pay and make sure it's a kyokian densi.

so I have a new pump ( not totally convinved the other pump is bad, but this will be a test :D )

So if i hook the new pump up the the inlet line from the tank...
1) should i be able to hit the cam arm on the mechanical pump and prime the tank?

2) Should I connect the outlet hose of the pump fuel line?

3) will this work?

I know this cannot be that hard haha, I mean the system seems simple enough, maybe I am more simple haha :D

thanks guys :D

I wish I was closer to actually hep you.. just ship it here.. i promise i'll send it back ;)

If you're losing prime and the pump is good, wouldn't that indicate an air leak somewhere? Fuel lines, fittings?

Maybe the float needle is stuck not allowing gas into the carb. Seems odd that you can prime it yet nothing gets into the carb. usually if you can get the engine to run by putting gas down the carb, that little bit of running should be enough to pull gas all the way through.
