(Translated:Anyone want to save me from pissing into the wind?)

Like I said I’ve never seen a 55 Ron Davis radiator in person but I have seen Ron Davis custom radiators a lot more complicated than a 55 radiator and I know Ron Davis will build you whatever you want and you should expect it to arrive at your door step exactly as you ordered it. A call to the shop will get you all the information you need to provide them with all the information they need to build you an exact drop in unit or you can send them your OEM radiator and let them get the critical dimensions, either way they are capable of giving you exactly what you’re asking for at about the same price you quoted to patch you old unit but the Ron Davis unit will be head and shoulders better.

Only I've seen was in Ryan's pig, which was so far a departure from any semblance of OE, it doesn't factor in.

Will call them shortly to confirm.

Sucks to have stuck to the OE fanboy plan all the way down to nearly the end, to conceded defeat and alt for an easier sourced solution, but I can find a viable unit anywhere and tired of looking for rare spares.

Chris,

I have this one on the shelve, came with the parts for my 71. Was told it was already boiled and tested, don't know anything about. Some of the fins are bent, but rest looks good. If you want, tell me some measurements and we'll see if it will work.

Thanks, Ron. Greatly appreciate, but don't think the earlier three variations will work with the 2F.

I have a one of similar vintage that's been tested and rodded, too, but (and I can't recall specifically what didn't) it won't work in the '76 2F.

BVB is going to take to a different shop and have disassembled to inspect tanks, while he's there, to get a clearer picture of viability.

Know it sounds ridiculous, but would like to keep OE-ish, in appearance, at least and just dumb enough to exhaust every effort to do so.......but fighting the other voices that are screaming "just get it done!" had become a much greater a challenge than I thought it ever would be.

If you want I can bring it up to Ft Collins Radiator if BVB strikes out.
Let me know...

Appreciate the offer.

If he strikes out, calling Ron Woods and gonna be done with it.

Give me a good excuse to run nitro methane in the future....

These little things that shouldn't be a big deal, compound into weeks worth of delays. Granted, I'd go about completely differently, but realize now how months upon months worth of preparation does little to aid in overall efficiency.

Just like my business, you hurry up to wait.

FYI on Ron Davis' offering:

Dunno what I'd posted on this, but had a helluva time determining what mini truck power steering gearboxes I had, but none of the rebuild kits included these seals, assuming it was sold as a complete unit, which is NLA.

Mark at West Texas hooked us up with several in varying sizes, to find those that do fit, so hopefully off high center on steering.

Thanks, lakerat!!

Rest of the parts are prepped and ready for reassembly, quick blast to remove scale, the two part coating.

Good option, but still lacks the ToyoRad sticker I'm so fond of .....

I know it could be done with any custom radiator, granted know nothing about efficiency, but...

Ron Davis' obviously have a tranny cooler built in, since they've an MT and AT offering.

Regardless of who fabbed, I'm assuming the secondary cooler could be used for power steering cooling. Fluid boiling point is low, so shouldn't be too much to handle, I wouldn't think.

That said, and for reasons that may not matter on this project, but have another it does:

Can the power steering cooler AND AC condenser be contained in one integrated radiator?

On mine, I used the secondary cooler for engine cooling. AC cond. in front and a small cooler for steering. I've never seen a cooler for both AC and PS., but that doesn't mean much.

I see you already have offers, but was going to say I'd trade mine for a working one I could fit in even if it weren't OE. Also, have a mid 70s air cleaner housing I won't need if you were interested in another...

Nice... I'm jealous. I need to abandon body work and focus on getting mine running. I can always to endless hour of sanding later.

Before Christmas was the only commitment given.....

Have the AC and power steering hoses, drive shafts, parking brake cable and front turn signals to go.

Is AC compressor mounted? I am on the verge of this myself, thank you for the dummy compressor to mock things up!
