Keyring LED

I was wondering if you can tell me how to change the keyring LED. Is it hard to get access to? Where do we start unscrewing? Thanks in advance.:meh:

Is is the same type bulb you have in the floor shifter. Take the lower panel off with the three screws near the pedals. Next pull off the middle section (the one that includes the key hole). This section has no screws it is clipped in. Once that is clear, including unplugging the plugs for lights, locker, rheostat, etc., you can see the bulb that lights the keyring. If I remember correctly, there is only one screw holding the ignition in place but you will need a magnetic screwdriver to keep from losing the screw.

This is a picture of the rear view of the instrument cluster of a 93 showing which lights are for what on the cluster.

Is there a way to wire my truch lighting so that I can control the light with the flick of a switch like if I want all lights off, and all lights on in the flick of a switch is this possible..?

I believe many cars have it and its call the dome light switch? My little corolla has it.

Interesting, since everything is controlled by ground it seems possible. Sounds like a search through the EWD.

Did I miss it somewhere or are the LED's in the cluster need to be inserted correctly because they are polarity sensitive? Some work and some don't...

LED's are always polarity sensitive. You either put the ones that don't work in backwards, or they are busted.

Exactly Ebag... my bad. Being in a rush is never the appropriate way to do it. I will get it fixed tonight.

Done! I like the look of the upgrade. Crappy picture I took in the dark though.

Why is it dull between 1 and 3k rpm,

Al

Camera I guess because it looks fine otherwise. The "dim" condition is in the CDL light that I am trying to track down. When engaged it is the same intensity as the front and rear lock lights. Any ideas? I just posted a thread asking for help on ideas.

I just asked as I have this dim area, but planning go go the LED route,, looks good! ,Al

Well last night was the first night I drove it and you are right, there is a dimmer area at 2500. It does not look like the pic, it is brighter but I had my attention drawn to that area and you are correct.

I took the route treeroot did with the last set of blue LED's that are longer than factory and had to grind. On this one side the polishing I had to do after the grinding on the plastic diffuser may not have been the best. I did not notice this before the mod but truthfully I have never looked at my dash as much as I did last night. ;)

iPhone pic of the cluster. There isn't a dark spot on mine but you might want to check that all the lights are working. I remember the same dark spot when one of the earlier LEDs went out.

Ahh yes , that looks better,, nice!

More pics for reference. You can see in the 2nd pic the cover needed to be notched to fit over the new relay tabs.

So this fixed your quick flashing turn signals? I bought this one but I must have done something wrong, it still flashes quick

The EP-34 worked for me. Does yours say LED, 2-6lamps? on it.

Mine is the Land Cruiser dash with the bigger buttons.

So anyone know how to disassemble the older style defrost switch? I just need to replace the bulb but this thing won't come apart.

I know the part number was the same as you posted. I will need to yank it out and see.

Just popped 4 of the 48 SMT array LEDs at $24.00 each

Autolumination keeps cost reducing and the new lights are not protected against polarity. I have seen three different versions now and the newest has some sort of load coil on the back. Red is positive and the side closest to the switch is the positive side of the dome light. If you put them in backwards, they will burn up.
