Anyone here interested in a Charter Boat Deep Sea Fishing trip?

May and June are when the Mahi and Yellowfin are starting to bite.

For reference:

5 people maximum per boat (certainly we can get more than one boat if there's a lot of interest)
Approximately $250 per person or so for the boat/gas
Add an extra 30-50 per person for a tip to the first mate
Plan on 30-50 per person for them to cut up the fish..

So I'd plan on $350-400 plus travel expenses... so not a cheap trip.

We could drive up EARLY the day of or we could go the night before and camp out in our rigs. Generally speaking I'm exhausted after a day of fishing so I'll likely spend the night nearby and drive home in the morning.

Again as of now it's a simple "yes - I'm interested" or "no - I'm poor/cheap/seasick/busy/vegan/pacifist/etc" if you'd like to suggest your favorite boats/locations feel free.

Assuming we have more than 5, I'll figure out the dates that work and we can talk about which location/boat.

Last good trip I took was out of Oregon Inlet in the Outer Banks on a boat called Bi-Op-Sea. WE KILLED IT. Came home with so much Mahi and Tuna it was awesome.

Might be interested.

I'm a puker. I've learned my lesson when it comes to chartering fishing boats. I just can't do it anymore. Y'all have fun!

Went on one very rough trip - I was the only one that didn't vomit (aside from the skipper/first mate). I came very close a few times, but managed to hold it back.

There's got to be more folks that like to spend $40 a lb on tuna?

It's only a 14 hour drive from here to Key West :)

I'm right there with ya. I love fishing but unless I'm piss drunk me and the swells aren't swell.

Dude any other time and I would be dockside waiting on you. After I get through with this head gasket on the 80 and my folding money situation looks better I will be down anytime you wanna go. I absolutely love going out, never been sick but I have always taken Dramamine. Got in a bad storm once off the coast of Florida, swells so bad it looked like we were gonna see the ocean floor, the Dramamine did its job then also. Damn near scared me to death though.

Amen brother!! When I left the Keys I sold my 25' Aquasport CC, kevlar hull. It was over $400 to fill the tanks for a day's running on twin Yamaha 150s. I built the boat, bought an old hull, rebuilt that and then fitted it out, I enjoyed that a great deal. Very cathartic.

Selling it was a great relief as it was a never ending money pit. If I had to do over again, I'd rent. I got far more use and fun per $ out of my 16" aluminum flats boat with a 35HP. That sucker would run 32 MPH across the flats with two people and full dive gear including 4 tanks.

I go offshore fishing all the time! We are always looking for people to help with gas. Don't need to charter a big boat to catch Wahoo and Dolphin. Depending on where yall go I can help with guides and boats. Might even have a place for some of you to crash.

I am always willing to get my line wet. I'll follow this thread. I went with Mike S. 2 years in a row on the Fintastic out of Oregon Inlet. Had a blast each time.
