I'll settle for a test drive onto a trailer for muffler work.
I'll volunteer my truck and trailer for the ride to the muffler shop when you're ready! Jims on Central does EXCELLENT work if you need a good shop...

X2! I think a complete manifold-tailpipe setup runs around $400 at Jim's. Keep them away from your oil filter
, but they really do fantastic work.Dan
Sandia Muffler (also on Central) does a good job too, but as I recall header to tailpipe was only about $200.
My guy is Mike at MBS in Rio Rancho (just east of the Honda dealer on 528 as you head up the hill into Rio Rancho).

Yep, and the same folks are favoring the same shops as before. Sounds like we are lucky to have several quality options for exhaust systems.
So, I'm thinking Flowmaster 50. Any opinions?

What does the connector look like on a FZJ80 horn? I found one of the FJ60 horns, but I need a second.
Small black plastic connector for a single pole connection. I think it is a female spade connector. Horn is grounded through the mount. I think it is a standard connector for horns. They are yours if you want them. Let me know if you need a picture.

Those might work better than the FJ60 horns which are double pole, though I just ran the ground wire to the mounting bolt. The original FJ40 horns were single pole and that's the way I wired the horns.
FWIW- i LOVE my flowmaster! i know i have a V8 and a flowmaster 40 series, but you can't beat that low rumble! if it gives yours a sound anywhere near mine, it will sound mean.

You may also want to consider "A Real Muffler Shop." They are on Virginia NE (near Wyoming & Central). I know that's not really in your neighbohood, but they carry Flowmaster mufflers and I think their work is reasonably priced. Just another one to add to the list...

Weekend Summary
I worked on Da'40 all weekend and for some reason I don't feel very accomplished. Lots of little things.
* The lights I bought were set up for dual-filament bulbs. I didn't know this at the time, but they take a bulb that is only available from one source (1005). I converted the dash turn signals to single filament and put in a commonly available 5W bulb (5007).
** In the factory configuration there is a resistor that sits on top of the blower under the hood. This switches between high and low fan speeds. Knowing that the resistor can be a problem I abandoned it and installed a dash switch with the resistor built in. Connection to the heater is now two wires (+ from the switch and ground) instead of three (high, low, ground).
I worked on Da'40 all weekend and for some reason I don't feel very accomplished. Lots of little things.
- Wire up the gauges (volt, fuel, water, oil, speedo, tach).
- Wire up the dash lights (4WD, charge, high beam, brake fluid, CEL). Discover charge light doesn't work.
- Wire up dash turn signals. *
- Wire up the heater fan. **
- Wire up the lighter sockets (3).
- Check clearance of the wire bundles with heater box and vent.
- Mount fuel pump to frame. Run temporary line to engine.
- Make wire harness for fuel pump to ECU.
- Discover I'm out of 2-pole Weather-Pack connectors and 16 gauge male terminals.
- Install fill neck for gas tank. Discover I need to drop the tank to hook up supply and return lines.
- Install Mike's horns.
