Me and the gf went to a party recently and to save having to try and get home decided to sleep in the truck. I had removed the middle row beforehand and and fitted in an air mattress so we had a pretty comfortable night.

However, by the time we woke up there was already quite a few people going around outside and we were pretty much naked under the duvet... I didn't mind too much but she wasn't too happy!

So my thoughts turned to rigging up some kinda blinds or curtains for a bit more privacy. Any ideas welcome before I start experimenting!

The VIP or BIPPU style cars use curtains that I'm sure will fit the LCs with some modifications(or maybe without any mods). They are a bit pricey at around $200 a pair but I'm sure one could use that same idea and custom make cheaper versions.

a) pictures (not of you) or it didn't happen :)

b) cheap option would be a bunch of those sun block/screens for babies in the back seats etc. They have suction cups to 'stick' to the glass. With tinting and screens it would be pretty hard to see in and would provide cheap and easy to position/remove coverage.

c) get an 8" lift kit and run 37" tyres - be hard for anyone next to the 80 to see in :)

cheers,
george.

I was thinking of the same thing. My dad had a Volkswagen camper when I was a teen. They had curtains that worked great. A sewing machine and some hook & loop fastners (Velcro) would do the trick.

I thought we had a "smiley" that said that, and was going to post it earlier, but I couldn't find it.:grinpimp:

Throw a tarp over the whole vehicle. :)

I made "rods" out of bungee cords and curtains out of landscape cloth that I hot glued wood blocks into to hold cuphook "hangers."

Note that the middle pic just shows the bungee cords, the windows are covered with homemade magnetic bug screens om that shot. Probably not enough darkness factor with those for your GF;)

There's a net installed in the rear also in the middle shot that also depends on the curtain bungees. We use it as a mezzanine for clothes and bedding.

Best thing about hot glue is you don't need to know how to sew. And the landscape cloth is CHEAP.

The front window curtains came out pretty ugly, but I can use it as a pattern for a nicer looking one whenever I get tired of looking at it and more ambitious:hillbilly:

I found bungee cord to be to weak to support my canvas curtains. I had better luck with a spool of nylon clothes hanging rope from home depot.

This is the spool of Nylon I bought and a pack of small buggies to steel the hooks off of.

And don't forget magnetic screens for those hot nights.
