I recently installed a Brexhaust (Magnaflow) cat-back for a customer and it fit great and worked well. I’d suggest new factory exhaust rubber isolators and nuts while you're in there, but otherwise I’d do it again. They're relatively cheap too!

@reklund5 I looked at the Brexhaust website and they didn’t show anything for an 80 series.
Do you have a part number?

@devo

Depending on the year truck you're working on, (my truck is a 1994) below is a link to a thread that lists the changes that Brexhaust and Ansa made to the new mufflers that they sell for our trucks, starting at post #22,

Just curious what current cat backs you like/dislike etc. I’d love to have one from @OTRAMM but I don’t believe he’s doing them anymore.
Find a local hot rod shop.
For my 97 LX450 I did a custom over the frame exhaust using the Magnaflow downpipes/single cat and the Brexhaust muffler.
I had the Magnaflow ceramic coated, the shop cut what they needed to make the muffler fit properly, and all the rest of the piping is T304 stainless.
Used all OEM hardware/hangers/etc.
Cleared out the entire right side, and everything is tucked up high and tight. The Brexhaust muffler is a smaller diameter than OEM so less of a chance of catching a rock. Exhaust exits behind the right rear tire and is cut slightly higher than my rear bumper.

Got any pictures?
Not really. These are from 2019. Nothing lasts too long in the northeast.
I will say that the OEM pipe that Toyota uses is easily twice the thickness of any standard exhaust pipe.
The first attempt using regular pipe. The routing is the same, just using T304 and OEM hangers. 2 additional supports have been added that I don't have pictures of.

I had a local exhaust shop quote me an over the frame reroute + tailpipe reroute on my custom 3" mild steel system. Even reusing parts, they wanted $1,800+. Exhaust work in Colorado has gone full-on batsh!t.

Custom work is labor intensive. My truck was on the lift for a good 4 hours. The shop supplied the SS pipes, SS flanges, and SS O2 bung. Cost about what you were quoted.

Add in the cost of the Magnaflow unit, the ceramic coating, the muffler, the rest of the OEM parts, and it was around $2500 total.

That's the way it goes.

For that sort of money, buy a beaudesert and get a cat welded in across there.

Hmm that's not toooo bad for what you get.
They're nice, I might be biased because we sell them, but there's a few members stateside with them on HDJ80/81s and all good feedback.
