Patiently waiting in the San Fran airport for my flight to Portland. At least they have free WiFi so I can read MUD. Enjoy.

Its done! Going to pick up Mr Cimarron at the airport shortly!

Few things;

The front end suspension drop is very close to 1" and only occurred once the ARB Winch bumper was added. A couple spacers and she will be all level again.

Also, notice the sound of the diesel/ exhaust. Very reasonable. The exhaust system has a spark arrestor, that's it. No muffler.

Otherwise, extremely fun to drive!

Since we are both from the Austin area and we both don't have mufflers, just be careful where you get it inspected. They will fail you.

I've had my Libery CRD straight piped for 3 inspections with no issues. Maybe because it's not loud or because it's freaks them out that it is a diesel.
My buddy has a 06 Dodge straight piped but he has "a guy" for inspection because he is afraid.

That's great, I'll take my rig to your guy next time.

That looks great! Good job.

Any concerns about the RPM its turning at Hwy speed? Seems a bit high for a cummins to get ideal fuel economy. Really looking forward to see what it works out to after a few tanks. With such a short 1st gear you could probably go to 3.70 gears and get some hwy millage back.

I have been looking at the same or going to 37's.

I think it will be fine, a little higher than you want to turn for fuel mileage but it is absolutely in the power band. In fact the early 5.9's peak around 2700. It does look like you're going to be stuck running 70-75mph or below though which wouldn't work for me. lol.

Put alittle over a hundred miles on it today. Would of done more but I am wore out from work over the weekend. It's awesome to drive. It was hard to keep it at 65 which is the speed I usually drive at. It wants to go. Still working on learning the tranny and clutch. Started off in 2nd gear most of time. Gobs of torque. Starting in 1st feels like stock 4LO.
I will be probably look into getting some stiffer springs for the front. It's not bad but a bit squishy. I think I have Slee mediums on now. I'll have to double check.
Drove with windows down and at highway speed no noticeable noise.
Trip had 274 miles when I filled up. Most of that was still test drives. Put 15.292 gallons in at $3.59 for B20. Gas was $3.87. That's money right in my pocket. :) To bad it's the opposite in Texas.

I also need to fool the lockers to think there is a center diff. May just jumper the pins on the plug if I need them on my trip.

That chart is a stock dodge 5.9 p7100 truck. 215hp and 440ft/lbs, you can see it has no problem fueling past 2200rpms. There might be other variations of the 5.9 cummins for industrial use that are different but for the dodge, like the one used:

Year Disp hp tq pump valves
1996 5.9L 215 440 P-7100 12V
1997 5.9L 215 440 P-7100 12V
1998 5.9L 235 460 P-7100 12V

Mr Cimarron,

You have to do me a favor though! When you get back to Texas and have some time, if you ever make it down to San Antonio, call up JMS Racing and put it on the dyno! I want to see what kind of loss you see through the NV4500 and split tcase! I see about 30% with the A343F and H2FA.

It is going to be really cool to see the Diesel on the same dyno chart as a turbo 1FZ-FE! Finally some actual even comparisons!

Funny you say that because that was I was going to contact you to see where you got yours done. It's on my to do list.

Headed out to Crater Lake today. No cell service here so I had to buy an hour of internet at campground store to check in with home. It's pretty pricey here. $4/hour internet and it cost me $21 to camp. Anyway another great day driving the LC. It did great climbing up to 6,000' elevation. I never took it out of 5th unless the speed limit required it. It went up effortless. Only complaint I have so far is the square shift knob on the NV4500 shifter. Need to find a round one.

Taking a driving break at Starbucks in Carson City debating on when and where I want to stop today. I really want to play around Moab all day Thursday.
I haven't put fill ups in my spreadsheet yet but this will get you an idea of mileage I may be getting. Odometer was reset at last fill up. Odometer and speedo are spot on, checked with GPS and mile markers. Been cruising at about 60 on 2 lane roads and 65 on the highway.
