You don’t happen to have a hose kit for all the damn hoses that come off of the air box by chance? At 291k I think it’s about time.
I’m currently sorting through them all here on my desk. That kit should be up soon but it may be another month before I have them in stock (confirming a few last fitment details)

More 100 kits coming today!

Here are some tools added yesterday:

Added 100 Series CV axle snap ring kits to the site as well. These come in six (6) different thicknesses and are non-reusable parts in my experience (they often bend or warp).

Coming soon:
100 Series Front wiper arm & blade kits
100 Series weatherstrip kits (for doors)
100 Series door limiter replacement kits
100 Series 98-02 charcoal canister et al vacuum line kits

More 100 goodies!

100 Series Land Cruiser hood seal (does not fit LX470) & 100 Series 5-speed transmission shift knob (OEM leather)

I found one more seal driver that I had lying around. Must've input one too few in my inventory: Toyota 4WD IFS CV axle seal driver Special Service Tool 09550-00032 re - https://www.cruiserpatch.com/products/toyota-4wd-ifs-cv-axle-seal-driver-special-service-tool-09550-00032-replica?_pos=3&_sid=570c27a9a&_ss=r
These will be back in stock around the end of the month (August 2024)

This is more of a two-part explanation of a common problem found on the 100 Series rear doors accompanied by solutions to this problem and an upgrade for the 1998-2002 owners.

1. The 1998-2002 door check problem (rear door carnage/failure)

The old check assemblies had a steeper 'ramp' or slope to them which, in my opinion, may be the cause for so many rear door failures on the 98-02 models.

Combine a steep grade with old age, dried up grease, and lack of use (many owners may never have opened the rear doors but once in a blue moon) and the perfect storm emerges to create problems such as these (see photos below):

Above, right: 1998 Lexus LX470 rear door showing early signs of cracking (check your rear doors!!!)

It is possible to prevent further damage to the doors (seen at left) by installing the reinforcement plates I've designed (next batch expected 2 weeks from 8.16.24) but once it starts it can degrade within a matter of days!

It's the act of closing the door that puts pressure on the rollers inside of the check assembly. That pressure is transferred to the sheet metal of the door and creates stress fractures from and around the square hole in the door.

2. Solutions and upgrades to the aforementioned problem

The 98-02 check assemblies have a steeper grade/incline of ramp than the later model 100s (see photos)

Above, left: 68630-60050 (superseded by 68630-60051 and 68630-60070) used in 1998-2002 Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX470

I conjecture that by switching to the later model check assemblies, 98-02 owners will actually gain usability and reliability for their beloved 100.

Some other benefits of the later design include:
  • better/more foam insulation
  • ease of open & close
  • cleaner appearance (plastic cover for bolt head on b-pillar)
  • noise reduction upon open & close
  • street cred for having read this far

Above: side-by-side comparison of the two

Here's the part where I tell you to buy my refresh/upgrade kit:

Each check assembly comes with new OEM hardware and a new OEM plastic cover for the b-pillar mount & bolt.
A full list of part numbers can always be found on CruiserPatch.com

These assemblies are fully compatible with the 98-02 Cruisers and Lexi as well as the Cruiser Patch reinforcement plates.

Refreshed the door limiter reinforcement plates with the "Patch" signature laser-cut into the top of the plate. Also confirmed that these fit both 80 and 200 Series Cruisers/LX

A few more updates:
  • LCA bushing removal tool kits have been delayed because the latest batch arrived with an incorrect dimension. The central hole needs to be bored out to a larger diameter (anyone know a good machinist near Atlanta, GA?)
  • Got a shipment coming in on Thursday 9/26 which should restock many of the kits which are currently sold out

Thanks for going through the process of getting these shipped in from Japan... wiper kit order just placed!

While I like my old school OEM TEQ oill cap, the aluminum oil cap you have is slick! Will that be re-stocked?

Those are made by Kyle @plaidwagon - haven’t caught up with him in a minute. Any ETA on those Kyle?

Any idea when LCA bushing press kit back in stock?

Any plans for UCA press kit?
Had a batch come in that were screwed up. It was my mistake- didn’t triple check my dimensions on the drawing. Just ordered another batch yesterday that should be here by the end of October at the latest

No plans for a UCA tool, no. Since so many people run aftermarket UCAs it would be for a fairly small portion of the community. I may do so eventually but have to focus on higher demand products right now.

Can confirm, the oil cap is sweet and all of your friends will be jealous of it.
