cool pics

as to the plaque on Golden Spike just before Buttscratcher Ledge:

we knew Willyswanter (Jason) when he was still alive - really really nice guy

just for those not in the know: he died swimming in a lake on the Rubicon :frown:; his parents decided to spread his ashes in Moab at the site of the plaque at Blazer Bash 2008, since he built a really cool Blazer

Any details about the swimming tragedy? Was he an accomplished swimmer? Was it just a goof-off dip in the lake gone wrong?
I'm very into open water swimming, so these kinds of things get my attention

Great pics, Aaron ! I especially liked the Hell's Revenge on Friday as I have the 80 that was in front of you, that was a fun day.
Thanks, Alex:beer:

from what I heard it was at the end of a wheeling day, he jumped into the lake with everyone else, planning to swim to the little island and just didn't come up again :frown:

heart failure, I guess - 25 years old :crybaby:

Tragic.
I have a co-worker who found out she has long QT, after she passed out at a cross-fit workout. After the diagnosis she was cautioned about swimming activities. It would be hard to guess the number of people out there with undiagnosed defects.
Amazing the things we take for granted...
