Nice! How much additional travel do you get with the long travel setup? I've hung a rear wheel in the air -- curious how much improvement I could get.

It is drastic. Not even at full flex and all 4 still on ground

I was going with 2.5" as well. I called Radflo and had a good chat with someone (I want to say Mark, but I'm not sure). He said the 2.0's could work for me, but I'd be rebuilding them more frequently. The 75k service interval of the 2.5's sounded good to me.

I was off on what I said, but you can see that Dan is going some good travel.

This shock will allow for a full 11.5" of shock travel which translates into 27.5" of wheel travel (compared to a OME 2" lift that has 20" of wheel travel)
And that might of been where I heard the info about the 5000lbs, when I talk to Radflo, but from their website
SIZE: The diameter of the shock absorber body must be matched to the vehicle weight and intended use. Larger diameter shocks contain more oil for greater operating efficiency, as well as larger internal components and mounting hardware for strength.
2.0" Shocks are recommended for light weight vehicles (up to 5,000 lbs) and street applications. Multiple shocks per corner must be installed for heavier vehicles.
2.5" Shocks are recommended for medium weight vehicles (5,000 – 7,500 lbs) and recreational or racing applications. A single 2.5" shock is comparable in performance to dual 2.0" shocks.
3.0" Shocks are recommended for heavy weight vehicles (over 7,500 lbs) and professional racing applications. A single 3.0" shock is comparable in performance to dual 2.5" shocks.

finally got my new head unit with GPS (Garmin), bluetooth, Sirius.
while I was in there, I hooked up the lighter to always powered and ran a hot wire to the rear of the center console and iPod hook up into the center console.
this is the reason I didn't get a Nav unit GX

What trim panel did you use for that? I checked Crutchfield and they say that custom fitting is required.
Can you tell me more about that. Where you got it, what it requires as far as adapters? Is it using factory amps? I am not a stereo noob but I know little about higher end systems with factory amps.
I have seen a aftermarket made by Beatsonic. But that one is the proper color. I wonder if they make it the right color now.

I used BeatSonic trim piece, had it paint in a PHX shop for $45 and BearSonic wiring harness for the stereo and a box that tricks the amp. The wiring was straight forward, just like any other car. The black trim piece around the radio came with the Kenwood and I had to cut a lot to get it to fit. Something I did to get the stereo to fit farther back into the opening was drill new holes about 3/8" from the original holes in the two Lexus side mounting brackets. I wish I could of place the stereo a little further into the dash, but the room back there because very tight. I have more glare than I would like, so that is something to work on, maybe an anti-glare sheet. I emailed Kenwood about it today. With this system, you only hook up the front speakers and the amp feeds to all speakers, so there is no fade control, but I think it sound very good.
Something else I did that I was told not to do, but found where others have done it and so far it is working great, I mounted the GPS and Siruis antennas right next to each other at the middle front of the dash.
I follow where someone here did a unit in theirs and then with some internet picks, figure the rest out.

Damn, that is not a cheap fix!
I'm interested in the anti glare too, in the daylight the screen is 98% washed out by ambient light in the truck

its not, I think I paid around $275, but no one else has anything to fit the GX that I could find.

After doing this, i think all you need is just the top part, so this might work at $20-$40

that would of saved me some cash, you still need to buy the box that tricks the amp, unless you are planing to run a new amp and run speaker wires

I used this for $22 but it's not as nice as yours and only came in this black/charcoal color. When it cools off I was going to try and color match it.

and I think that would work just find, save some big $$$. all anyone needs besides the electrical stuff is a piece the will connect with the top display and the heater control display.

Do you have a link for the box to trick the amp? I don't care if I don't have fade function and I enjoy doing stereo swaps.
Don't you need a control box for the steering wheel controls to work? Those run about $50 - $80 but I would go with the better ones at $80 because we used a cheap one on my wife's Subi and it's a little delayed and sometimes we get a popping noise when the car starts up.

I do not, since I just purchased the kit, but there might be something here that does it, I didn't look through all the options
2005 Lexus Gx470 Stereo Installation Kits, harness, wires, parts, bluetooth, iPhone, tools, wire diagrams
I have a PAC-SR for the steering wheel controls, but haven't hooked it up yet, still trying to find out what to do with the steering wheel control wire from the unit, and does it need to hook up, will work on this part later
