It isnt set in stone, but the Idea is sometime around the solstice but with regard to not overlapping father's day or too early in June to infringe on the chillins school. Looks like maybe the week of the 20th and/or last weekend in June.

Family weddings put me out the last weekend in June and the last weekend in July. All else open.
Shouldn't be a determining factor for the group but we'd hate to miss our first Pig Party after five straight years. Still hoping for northern NM or perhaps northern NV for a change of scenery.
Rising Sun TLC club out of Denver does "the Train Trip" every summer, chasing the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad from Antonito in far SW Colorado to Chama NM. Might satisfy some itches...

Hey Rush, Jim, @riderjgs just clued me in on the discussion. That's beautiful country up there. I wish I knew more about the 4wd access in the area around Chama . My cabin that I'm building is 30 minutes away from Platoro, so I'm getting to know that area as well. Looks like we just need a map and a plan.
Here's my 2020 post from my friend who has a cabin at Platoro:
"Good to hear from you. I'll do the best I can answering your questions. The road (FR 250/247) to Platoro Reservoir is usually open from the south by early late May. FR 250 coming from the north over Stunner Pass is usually open by early June. This year the snow was close to normal so these should be good estimates. 4wd trails in the Platoro are include a short drive to Kerr lake on FR 257 which you have done before when we took your boat there many years ago, Another is FR 105, a rough but easily passable road (without snow) with good scenery. FR 260 is known as the "old toll road" and is access from the Conejos river basin to the Alamosa river basin. It is rough and can be challenging if there is water/mud. North of Platoto is the town of Jasper. FR 280 heads north out of Jasper to Blow Out pass. There is a trail from the pass that continues up to Bennett peak (13,200 ft) which is open when the snow melts. Another trail to the north is the historic Elwood pass trail that heads down the Elwood creek/East Fork of the San Juan River toward Pagosa Springs. This trail has several stream crossings that will be challenging in June. There might be a 4wd club in Pagosa Springs that keeps up with trail conditions that might be good to check with before making final decisions. Let me know if you have other questions."

Went up there twice this year. Climbed Conejos Peak and Summit Peak. Took the '76 FJ40 on the Conejos Peak trip, here's a photo of the trailhead parking and another from the summit looking NW towards Summit Peak. We crashed PP2018, sans any Land Cruiser, and may crash again if that's OK - can always zip-tie a Pig grille to either the FJ40 or FJ60. Having just run morrison jeep trail last year with fat bastard and a friend in his 100, i do not recommend it for anyone with an altitude challenged pig. there is a 4000' climb in the first mile that is 23 tight switchbacks and no room to get around dead vehicles. not the kind of trail you can easily back down if you have mechanical issues or if you need to tow someone up. for the well built piggies, rock on.
