I can't stand hanging engines in the air like that! All went fine though, straps are way over rated for the weight but still looks scetchy.

I really wanted to go all in detailing the engine but time does not allow. It looks really clean and I know it is a solid runner so I just did a little bit to it and the rest will wait for another time. Tentative plan is to pull it next winter and go through it to check everything and to see if it already has pistons with alfin inserts from the previous rebuild (know it was done but little info on it). It is going to get dirty anyway!

Now there are only 5,265,327 things left to do in just a few weeks!

Hehe. Just thought I would ask. Did see the offset mounts but was not certain. Looks awesome! Love the mud terrains on your golf cart.

Haha.
That cart is an accidental favorite. I went in on a super cheap fixer upper cab over truck with a buddy and got stuck with it. I had it for sale on CL and a guy offered me a super nice electric EZ-Go in trade. I took it thinking it would be easier to sell but has since gotten in the hearts of all of us and stays. Love the quiet ride.

Buddy hangs in it when I wrench.

I dug into my fj62 parts truck a bit. I've been dreading getting the rear (anti) sway bar out but went for it this evening. Not too bad considering the rust. It will need a major refurbish but at least there's something to work with.

I've got a few parts to scavenge then it will go up in the part out section.

I got the mirrors off too. They will go on Chunk. Also needed the air cleaner, fan shroud, windlace door seals, hand throttle, front seat (at least temporarily), rear seats and headrests. Haven't decided on the sweet rear wing though. If I can put it on Chunk real quick with sheetmetal screws I think I'll go for it :)

I might pitch my ARB bumper I looked so hard for as well. This bad boy is way better!

You should definitely re-use that rear window...

That brings back memories of taking my 80 body off with the farm tractor. They aren't the most precise tool for the job but they work!

The tractor works pretty good but I am always maxing out what it can lift. I am putting the body back on very soon (i hope) and it is really scary with my tractor. I think I will use my hoist again. It is time consuming but safer.

Are you going to have your truck done to take it to CO in August. I am super excited to see it. I have been thinking about it a lot. I have to do something about my truck situation very soon but ultimately I think I want to build what I want. I'd love to build a 79 series double cab with Cummins power. Maybe a pipe dream but sure would be sweet

@Ocho77 ,Can I bring the 62 parts rig to our party?

Only if you drive it on the trails. :bounce:

In all seriousness, bring it up...people may need parts!

I really doubt it. I’m also about 75% sure I won’t even make it. We have our biggest festival that weekend and I’m stuck being the skeleton crew of one here in Austin while everyone else is in Chicago for Lollapalooza. I’m still holding my spot for another month hoping something changes.

I'm hoping on the 25% chance you will make it but I get it

Does that gold paint ad any horsepower to that 3fe?

I think it adds 3hp. The hand carved wood oil filler cap adds another 5.

It runs really well, amazingly

FJ62’s make the very best parts trucks

Body and chassis are going to look each other over today. If all goes well today, they may just get together tonight!
