Don't want to sound stupid, but has anyone ever seen an FJ40 with about 1-2 inches taken out of the windshield and hardtop?

I was thinking about it to give my cruiser a slightly longer look. Nothing crazy just a slight adjustment because of having SOA and sitting on 38"s.

Just a thought

I saw a 1974 Bronco with 15"s added between the door and the rear wheel well, along with the hard top. Man that thing looked good!

I like that hot rod, very unique!

I would second Poser however, and say stretch it.

I think I remember seeing a pic of a yellow 40 that had been chopped a few months ago. Can anyone find that thread?

there was a chopped one for sale out here on craigslist a few months ago. i didnt like the way it looked parked next to a regular one.

Of course I'll just buy one of the many at are available in my local newspaper classified section. :flipoff2:

I agree with stretching it. Just stretching the wheelbase will make the whole vehicle seem longer too.
oh come on there is so many in the paper;p ive got one i will sell ya,hun get the 43 of the shelf in the kitchen:D

Is the suspension broke on that thing or what? Please God don't tell me you did that!

Wow... whomever did that needs to be slapped!

I like FJ40-GARAGE's rat cruiser. That's an awsome concept. It just needs Toyota's old hemi that was in their Japanese hurst.

X2. What a waste. That reminds of the dumb H2s runnning around with 24 inch street tires on them. 4WD curb jumpers I guess.

Why exactly would you want to do this? Do you like hitting your head on the roof? Do you like reducing the rearward visibility even more? Do you like reducing forward visibility too? Do you like reducing cargo room?
Do you actually like the looks of it?

I can see the downsides. What I don't see is an upside. ???
