Looks like you guys are having fun with the truck and the various modifications... to me that's what its all about.

I like your dual battery set up, I'm wondering how water resistant/proof it is.

I changed the installation a bit after the picture was taken when I got a hold of much bigger cables. The wiring enters the Aluminium box via plastic cable bushings that can take submersion. The lid of the box is sealed with regular rubber window seals. The box is pretty high above ground as well. I have a ventilation for gases to escape also.
I do not see a problem with it not being fully waterproof. The batteries will work fully submerged anyways as long as all connections are in a good working order.

best regards
Joakim

Awesome project! More pics of the underneath please.

Well it has been very quite here for a while.

I took the cruiser out for a testrun a while ago and noticed that 4wd would not engage properly. I opened up the caps on the hubs and it was not a pretty sight :).

I ended up with an Ultimate rebuild kit for the front axle from Lowrange and I also ordered a new PS-pump and a hydro assist ram.
Today I finished up all the plumbing for the steering and tested it for leaks. I will test it more after we have done the final assembly of the whole axle.
Here are some pics of the newly installed steering parts. I had to modify the bracket for the pump slightly and grind a bit on the pump as well. Also had to make my own pully.

:cheers:I like it and how it is very unique

Hi guys!

I am so sorry for the lack of updates. I have had a busy time as a father and running my own company.
There has been some progress on the cruiser...and a bit the other way as well :)

We finally built a full roll cage. Had some friends come down with a proper tube bender and we knocked it out in a day. Having a wife who is a licensed stick/TIG and MIG/MAG welder helps a lot nowadays because I only tac-weld and leave the rest to her :D
I also built the tube-doors myself, guess if the wifey likes the welds? :) They are really great and one of the best upgrades I have done. Visibility is so much better and it actually does not get to wet when its rainy. If its cold I just crank up the heat and I am ok.

I also grenaded my front winch pulling a friends Ultra 4 car through some nasty section of a trial. It´s a 24v 14k China-winch which has worked great. I rebuilt it so it now has a 12V Bow2 motor and I feed it with 24V continuously. it hauls ass to say the least :)...well it used to anyways. After a really hard pull of the Ultra 4 car (after his batteries failed pulling with his Red Hornet Winch) my relay to the winch welded it self in the ON position. We only watched as the winch pulled the other car out of the bog and luckily pulled it up against a tree and snapped the winch line. This was after 50cm flames shot out of the winchmotor :). My friends used the fire extinguisher and after a couple more seconds it went boom and the winch stopped. The aftermath is visible in the pics below. The rest of the winch is fine. Just need to by a new motor.

Last are some bonus pics and flics from some winter driving and from when I tried tractor pulling.
