Chicago, your truck is gorgeous man.

Thanks brother!!
She's treating me VERY WELL!! It was worth the effort and sabbatical from wheeling as hard as it was.

There are too many pages here... can you point me to some pictures of how you attached the front bumper?

Awesome 40 btw.

Lol...
Ill post some up later this evening when I'm home.
I welded 1/4 in plates to the front of the frame w/ capture nuts on the inside.
Through the bumper, I welded in some sleeves. It's all 1/2 in grade 8 stuff.

BTW...I have never run a trail where I could really see a NEED to run anything larger than a 35 in tire till THIS RUN! Maybe it was psychological, but I did really appreciate having just that little bit extra of the 37's especially in the water crossings.
I just dont see how someone would say that you could do that trail on 33's!!!
At least not comfortably.

Meet us in Clayton OK. sometime, my 39.5 boggers gave me clearance issues in places and made me have to re think some lines. Also the D60 and 14B didn't help with clearance, but still. I think 37's with f&r lockers are almost a requirement there. And then there is some really hard stuff on the backside of the mountain.

I ran my 39.5 boggers on the cruiser front with 30 spline longs for a long while. Blew up a couple of knuckles, stripped the splines out of a long, blew up a detroit, and also blew up either the aussie locker or damaged the front ring and pinion. Out back i broke two crappy poly performance shafts at the same time, blew up a stock shaft then went to the 14B and couldnt be happier. I also am digging my D60 just cause i know it is stronger being fitted with a spool and 4340 inners and stubs and the full hydro is AMAZING.

Congrats Chicago on being on the front Cover of 4wheel off road.
Just got my mag yesterday and recognized the license plate right away.

Now you're a celebrity.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud. Its an honor for sure especially for a home builder.

holy smokes that's right, it is your 40 on the cover! Sweet man, congrats, well deserved

Post up a picture of the cover for all to see!

As soon as I get home and use the restroom i'll take a pic.

Very nice and well deserved, that's one badass 40

Thanks guys!!
I've had a subscription to petersons and read GOBS of this features. ALL of a sudden... I'm reading about MY RIG!! Surreal, to say the least.

K

Where is that? How much did they pay you? :flipoff2:

Nope... Didn't get paid. Didn't submit anything for it.
Went wheeling w/ a guy earlier last summer (who is now a friend). Turns out NOW he is one of the editors/ photographers of petersons. He knew nothing about Matti or where she came from. He just thought it was a nice cruiser. He apparently found out about the BUILD. Looked THIS thread up on mud and appreciated it. He pitched it to Rick pewe who apparently likes these types of builds "wallet builds".... Now she's in the mag.
Its on a little trail called Dolores canyon north east of Reno.
It was EFFIN COLD and he was trying to make it look like it was a warmish spring day.
