So... what I did find after installing the new bulbs is that my headlight housings are broken . The passenger side mounts are all broken or cracked. Probably from my hit and run accident a few years ago. The driver side vertical adjuster is also stripped out. So rolling around on 5” of lift I feel sorry for any Preludes in my path. All that said, I ordered some new housings from Lexus *money, money, moneeeey*.

I also ordered some new Icon 2.0’s to replace my Fox 2.0’s. Next I want to pull the transfer case outputs and replace the bearings and seals. Still need to rebuild the power steering pump. And still eyeballing the truckfridge 51qt if/when it comes back in stock.

Add all that plus the new Tundra we bought and a new pew pew and I feel like a baller.

Replaced the headlight housings today with new ones from Lexu$.

And here’s the broken vertical adjuster from the driver’s side housing.

Maybe a Wit’s End idea? @NLXTACY

I should have added the damn headlight retainer rings too that you can’t buy separately. :bang:

Anyways.... new shocks arrived today.

It was nice that the rears came with shock boots already installed. I’ll add some to the front for extra peace of mind.

The Fox Shocks I’m pulling off have over 60k on them. They’ve been used hard in the desert and mountains but unlike some others I’ve had boots on them this whole time to protect the pistons from debris. I’m curious how much resistance they still have once I get them off the truck. For a budget shock the Fox have been great in my experience. I choose to go with Icon this time to try something different. :meh:

Could you post shock dimensions??

Here are the lengths via tape measure using this method.

Front Shock 56511
For 4”-6” lift

Extended 28 3/16”
Piston length 11 1/4”
Piston width 5/8”
Shock body length 16 5/8”

Rear Shock 56512
For 4”-6” lift
Extended 27 3/8”
Piston length 10 13/16”
Piston width 5/8”
Shock body length 15 1/4”

With fronts measured with one washer and bushing on each stud the length is 29 7/8”. Rear measured from halfway in eye to stud with one washer and bushing length is 28 3/8”.

Awesome! They seem to be about the same length as my yellow Dobinsons. Pending your report, I’d like to try a set of the icons out. Has badly did it hurt when you clicked “buy”?

Since I went with the non remote reservoirs the price wasn’t bad, $168 a shock. I ordered them directly from Icon. You could always wait until metaltech does a sale on them and pick them up 10-20% cheaper.

I've been running those shocks for about 4 years and LOVE them. I have one that's leaking a bit. Local ICON reseller/service shop will rebuild for $105, saves me $50 over buying a new one.

Removed my Fox 2.0 and installed some new Icon 2.0. First observation is that the Icon front shocks are about 2” longer than the Fox shocks. Drove it around the block for a shake down, too short of a drive to really have any opinion over than I did notice body roll has decreased with using a fresh shock.

I have run ProComp boots on the Fox since my original purchase. There’s no pitting or leaking on any of them after over 60k miles. I may try to have these rebuilt just to keep on hand

Frame rails had quite a bit of sand in them from the desert.

Dropped off the front bumper and some other small parts with the powder coater today. Also started to clean up the rear bumper a little bit; fill in some holes I had originally made for wiring that I’ve now rerouted and move the pull pin locations the carriers at the spindle. Welds aren’t horrible for not touching the welder since last summer. Probably should have come up a little higher on the collar but didn’t want to interfere with the rest of the assembly. Slowly coming along.
