OK I am very new to this. I have always been into sport cars. But I got a deal on a 80 series that I could not refuse. That being said I'm new to the 4x4 community. OK this 1994 land cruiser center diff lock is on and I can't figure out how to cut it off. I'll add some pics of the dash just for reference thank you for reading.

Your 80 series doesn't have factory axle lockers and it doesn't look like the previous owner added a center diff lock switch. I would try switching from low range to high range a few times to see if that helps. What makes you think the center diff lock is on all the time?

FYI, if you don't like that wood trim it peels off pretty easy on a hot day. Only took me about an hour to take it all off the dash, console and all 4 doors on a 100 deg day. If you go slow it leaves little to no residue as you peel it off.

US spec 80 series trucks didn't come with a CDL switch from the factory. It would have been something that you would have had to install afterwords. The switch would be located to the left your rear defrost switch. Typically the CDL lock light will come on when you have it in 4 low.

When I start to it up the light comes on and the abs light comes on. It never turns off that why I think it is always on. And thank you for the info about the wood trim. I live in AZ so I should be able to get it off on a hot day

My guess is the CDL actuator is stuck - hopefully due to a faulty relay. You should hear a clicking sound as you shift into and out of 4Lo. Replacement relay isn't expensive and is super easy to install - I'd do that first and report back.

There is no clicking while engaging 4lo or disengaging it either.

Have you checked the 30A "DIFF" fuse?

If you got a really good deal on it, AND you don't know much about it, it might be locked for a reason. You might have a cruiser that has had the 4WD system disabled for one reason or another.

If you make tight turns on pavement, does it roll smoothly or make jumping/sliding/popping sounds and motions? If it is truly locked and in 4WD, it isn't going to want to make tight turns on pavement very nicely. If you try this and find that it turns nice and smooth, no problem then you've got a bigger issue with the drivetrain that will need to be sorted out and it will most likely go no where at all once you unlock it.

Not to nitpick, but US spec 91 and 92 80 Series had them stock.

It is very jumpy taking tight turns on pavement.

Welcome aboard - lots of local folks to meet and possibly get hands-on help from here (AZ club called Copper State Cruisers). Further, you could ping @murf (Camelback Toyota, he runs the Service department) or @Tools R Us (local guru, has his own independent shop) if you need any local expert help.

That said, sounds like you're locked up and an actuator replacement might do the trick but that's just troubleshooting via what you've supplied here. Good luck!!!

And yes, the '91/'92 came with the CDL switch. Not too often we 3FE'ers get to brag.....

Thank you and I will definitely look into the ppl you told me about

Try the indicator switch in the side of the tcase. take it out. clean it well. test with a meter to see if it is working properly. The CDL actuator will not work if the indicator doesn't complete the circuit when you switch tcase shifter to 4L or 4H
After that have someone switch from 4L to 4H over and over while you tap on the CDL actuator with something. Can't remember but you might have to lower the trans and tcase to reach the actuator. Should come back to life. CDL don't tend to go bad like the diffs.

OK I have been looking for this fuse and I can't find a diagram for it. Is it under the hood or in the cab?
It's in the fuse panel the cab, by the driver's left knee.
