Does anyone have any experience with Interstate Auto Shippers? Or any other recommendations would be helpful.
I need a rig shipped from New mexico to Missouri and have never shipped a car before. Any suggestions would be appreciated

had a very good experience with Black Diamond out of macon, ga. dont know how helpful that is but they may be running trucks in your region. # is 478-447-9655.

Try uShip.com. I've used it to ship two cars out to CO from back East. You'll get a lot of bids and will be able to choose the shipper with the best feedback and price. Sometimes they will be independent contractors, just make sure you're comfortable with the insurance and agreement. Good Luck.

A friend of mine runs Discount Auto Transport, I have never had him ship a truck, but he is a straight up guy. Call Mike at 715-687-4600 tell him 85fr16 sent you.

i can't remember who i used. for some reason american auto or all star sounds familiar but it might not be correct. one thing i did learn when researching is the lowest qoute might not get your vehicle shipped on time if you need it quick or on a certain date. they i guess "bid" drivers and if the drivers dont get enough money they wont take their "bid" for your vehicle, so it could take longer than you want. also i talked to a company who was $150 below every one else, the guys name was like puals balls or something wierd and sounded sketchy so i went with a different company. the company i used had a driver w/ in a week and the driver picked it up 2 days early, his truck broke down and he still delivered it a day early. i drove 800 miles straight so i could get home and see my new purchase lol. i really lucked out and got a great driver, who called me to update the whole time he had the vehicle.

a few things that might be helpful:
-say you use a company and its a $1000 to ship your vehicle the "agency" you use will take say $150 fee (out of the $1000) for themselves. the other $850 goes to the driver which you pay when your vehicle gets delivers
-like i said before dont always jump on the lowest bid, read reviews online their really helpful.
-make sure the company can ship your vehicle, some places charge extra for a lifted vehicle since its harder to find a truck to trailer it cuz of height. closed trailers are more expensive than opens

also if you fill out a request form online for several qoutes the transport companies harrass the living hell out of you, but im sure they do this no matter what its probly just how they run their business. i am still getting emails from them, i requested shipping qoutes over 6 months ago. i got phone calls for over 3 months. finally just blocked their numbers. i was getting 2 and 3 calls a day and tons of voice mails got annoying as hell.

I used uShip to transport my 40 from Las Vegas to Des Moines, IA. I used trukindaddy, whose name is Gene. He is a retired truck driver with an awesome enclosed rig that he owns. He's also a Landcruiser owner, which was a real bonus for me. He did a great job, was on time, communicated well and gave me a good price.

My only 2 cents is make sure to secure the hood with more then old speaker wire. Most shippers have fine print about damages caused by latches or other items. Not responsible for damages ! Other than that 675 dollars from CO to Ga. was not a bad price.

I have used "Dependable auto shipper" DAS twice and was very satisfied,,,you can track the location, ETA of your vehicle being shipped..... thru their site....which i thought was kinda cool,,,,pretty much like UPS tracking info.;)

I used 'Kiwis Karriers' out of Port Townsend Wa. They were reccomended by some MUD members. I had been waiting 3 weeks for a big company to pick up a recently purchased fj 45 in Show-Low Az. I was told it was too far from the interstate so it would be a while yet. I called Kiwis and they had it on the truck 2 days later. It was non running and had 3 flat tires, but the driver winched it on. Never mind he had to shovel snow and move a huge stack of fenceposts with the seller just to get to it. It was delivered in a few days for the agreed 900.00 and the driver even helped me put 4 good tires on it in the pouring rain at 7 am, just so it would roll straight when transfering over to my trailer at a truck stop. (that's it an hour later in my avatar). I happily gave the driver a big tip. They are family owned and are originally from New Zealand. They left me with the impression that Kiwis are helpful and friendly, and I would call them first if I ever need to transport a vehicle again.

I used Dependable Auto Shippers once and never again.

Bought a 4Runner for my month off in Colorado and wanted it shipped by Christmas. Got a quote and confirmation of delivery before Christmas. Got delivery on 3rd of January. Santa came late and he dented my bumper.

The fools couldn't even figure out the clutch-starter switch and thought it was dead.

Nevermore...

I once used Gizzmo Link out of North Carolina and got screwed. Some of the companies you get through Uship are actually brokers....that act as intermediaries between Uship.com and the transporters. If I had to do it again I would probably use USHIP.com, but select a family owned, small outfit to do the shipping. it might cost a little more initially, but the risk of dicking around with a bad contract makes it worth it.

good luck

I used DAS 3 times in the past two years between NY and South Florida. Absolutely no problems, but just never had a really good feel for the company. Can't explain it - but they were on time, didn't damage anything (Series III 88" Land Rovers), and the price was so so.

Is it roadworthy? Fly me out there from AL, back from MO to AL, pay for fuel/expenses and I'll drive it back for you for a small fee.

Seriously, PM me if interested.

Agape

Agape Auto Transport. Just brought my 80 from Indy to FL. Google them. They were competitive price and it arrived 1 day early.

I used 1st Call Auto Haul about a month ago (1st Call Auto Haul). Call 888.607.1999 and ask for Eric. A fellow MUD member recommended them and uses them exclusively. He is very up front and knowledgeable. The process was flawless and I would use them again if I needed another cruiser shipped. I've been told that I don't.:D

x2 on DAS. Used them a few years back to get my 40 from Houston to San Diego with no problems. They had an option to ship "hub to hub" that was cheaper than "door to door". And always get the insurance, just in case.

X2. i was the one who recommended Eric at 1St Call auto haul. i;ve shipped over 30 trucks with him and never had an issue. Usually a little less than everyone else.

DAS and all these other palces use the exact same shippers and the same internet pool to source transport from.

Eric is very reliable and I would NEVER use another hauler.
