Hmm these looks nice, i see the price as 875 CAD$ makes this about $640 US? That's not bad, i wonder what he charges for shipping, is this direct bolt on? Do i need to modify or cut anything?

Shipping to me wasn't cheap exactly cheap - BC, Canada to east central coast FL - but his competitors would have faced something similar I expect, given their locations seem to be significantly North and West of me. I suggest an email or call for current pricing and shipping - easy guy to talk to. Maybe worth mentioning, he drove them over the border and used a US shipper to save me a few bucks (no border transfer agent required).

Direct bolt-on with no modification to slider or frame - all three legs are used even with AHC. One bolt is a real pain to get in if one has AHC, that being around the frame mounted accumulator - which is why some AHC sliders only have two legs. And in my case for one of the front mounting legs the upper side of the frame had enough of an arch that I had to put the mounting bolt in a vise and give it about an 1/8 inch bend so it would bridge across the frame (Jason warned me this sometimes happens so it wasn't a surprise). This might/might not be true for other LCs/LXs, no basis for me to judge. Other than that it was a very precise fit.

We placed a bulk order of the Cruisin off road sliders in Philadelphia. Used Fastenal for shipping, was a great deal.

The connection system by Cruisin is the best I've seen. Clean, strong. All the rest just use ubolts. Also, he's in Canada, so the US dollar is worth more. Shipping from him to Philadelphia was $125 via Fastenal.

Cruisin Off Road sliders order

I don't do any crazy wheeling that requires me to need beefy heavy sliders. It's mainly for aesthetics and as a stepping platform for my 5'1 girlfriend. I doubt I'd ever put them to use other than that, but who knows as this hobby becomes more serious.

The cruisin offroad sliders are the most appealing to me. Almost al other companies use a U bolt around the frame, leaving the mount to hang below the frame. While this may not be a huge issue, I would prefer the bottom of the frame to be smooth. Cruisin offroad sliders achieve this.

The exact reason I opted to build my own sliders years ago ... after the 3rd design/fab of my own I finally got it right/the way I wanted them. Full coverage and no hardware hanging down below the frame. Surprising most slider designs leave quite a bit to be desired all things coverage between end of sliders and fender area ... for more aggressive trail work anyway.

Got the crusin off road step style sliders. Cost with shipping to socal Came out to what a slee slider would cost without shipping. Ups didn't do a good job so I got some scrapes.
Tolerance is tight. I used some silicone spray to help slide the sliders up the frame while jacking it up(one man job). One of the supports on the driver side actually rubs the floor sheet metal. I resolved that by slightly bending it and adding a piece of rubber ( from a cut up inner tube). I'd buy again.
It was this or white knuckle and I decided step design for my kids.

All I can add is that if , I was doing sliders again ... I would go with a top plate. I car pool taking kids to school and no matter how many times I tell the neighbor's little booger slow down getting out of the truck , he doesn't listen well and his foot can fit right between the rails, backpack on falling forward. Yea .. not good. Older kids , no problems..

Cruisin Off Road sliders order

Anyone interested in organizing a group buy from Cruisin Off Road? I'd like to get sliders before HIH7.

I have the OPOR sliders from Metaltech, which I got uncoated to paint myself. I have to say, I'm pretty confused about the differences between the OPOR branded and Metaltech branded sliders. They even use the same pictures on the website. It seems like OPOR is their slightly less nice house brand? For instance, the OPOR lower links don't have johnny joints, but the metaltech do. But I'm not sure of the differences with the sliders. When I bought earlier this year, the Metaltech weren't even available.

Anyway, onto the sliders. They look good, are heavily built, and well crafted. I like the kickout near the rear fender, and they are just enough to step on, without sticking out too much. My kids use them as steps, and I have no concerns of their feet slipping through. I've been wheeling a couple of times since they went on, and touched them down on the ground a couple of times, but on dirt, not hard rock. One worry is they are only connected with two arms, which I wasn't expecting, I'd hoped for 3 arms. I think they used to have 2 arm and 3 arm versions depending on whether you had AHC, but they just do the two arm version now. That said, the arms look beefier than pics I've seen of other brand sliders. I've used a high lift and jacked from the most remote (most leverage) part of the "step", and it lifts the truck fine without hitting the rocker panel, but if it dropped onto a rock from a couple of feet up, I'm not sure if it would deform enough to hit or not. In all, I'd buy again. they were a good deal, particularly since I was able to pick up and avoid $200 shipping.

Pics below. Excuse the mud, just went camping.

3/8" of flat material flush with the bottom of the frame, compared with ~1" of flat bar with square edges and a U-bolt, its clear which one is less likely to hang up. You are correct however in thinking that it is unlikely to ever get hung up on that based on the fact that many other things hang below the frame. It takes that one perfectly placed rock to hang you up, but once again the solution is usually simple (different line) and probably not as of a concern to most others.

After exchanging messages with Jason (the owner) I was assured I could get a bare metal set as I agree spray paint is easier to touch up than PC.

I was simply stating my opinion, based solely off of my research. Yet I still have not made a purchase, so my decision is still unmade. This thread might sway my final decision.

You're right I forgot about the "tabs" hanging down for the u-bolt to pass through. I stand corrected.

No worries man, just trying to get info to the people.

I've been running OPOR sliders for about three years and I've actually used / needed them - I beat on the truck a bit. They're as solid today as the day I installed them, zero complaints. Love the kick-out in the rear and they function we as steps while reming low profile.

If I were doing it all over I'd get the OPORs again.

Can you run the OPOR with front mud flaps?

Interesting the pics from their website show three support arms vs the two you guys mention.

Yes, that's why I was disappointed and considered returning them. But they are so well made otherwise, and are the exact profile I wanted, and the arms do seem very beefy, that I decided to keep them. No regrets so far.

When I ordered them 3 years ago, they offered them as seperate models for AHC equipped vehicles (with 2 arms) and without (with 3) as well as several options for top plates and powdercoating. i think they just went with one model fitting all models so they could run large orders. I dropped the full weight of the truck on them and wouldn't think only having 2 arms would be detrimental to their purpose.
