Installed the TCM today, and started on. Tcase adapter in hopes the sealed bearing arrives tomorrow.
While here did the “Camaro pan upgrade” that g8 owners do. Larger pan and wide mouth filter.

The BP stuff is super nice. Its definitely nicer than the painless harness I used and they include some extra stuff for gen 3.

@cruisermatt question on the 62 Tcase parts. Is this seal part of the kit normally? i have one that seems similar but not exactly the same. I think it’s for the shifter shaft

The round one with the gold ring in the second photo should not sit flush, it has a lip and you tuck a rubber dust boot unrer the lip if i remember correctly. The rod that goes through the boot is for the 2wd-4wd lever arm and has a little square notch cut out of it.
I believe in the first photo the smaller one is for your H-N-L rod thing that goes down into the transfer case on one end and attaches to your shifter arm. The smaller one im not sure of.
That being said, this is all for a manual shift tcase. Ive never rebuilt a vacuum shift one

Remember you bought the transfer case kit from me, not CruiserOutfitters. The first two are for H/N/L rod and inside the speedo bullet. The seal in your second pic doesn’t get used for vacuum shift.

Took a few hours but managed to get it done. The AA shaft doesn’t have notches for the staking of the nut so I used 243

It’s buried in another pile of parts still connected to the arm. Had to go to dinner before I looked for it

Helped my buddy pull some freeze plugs out of his 302 block then got the drivetrain assembled for test fit. Only one bell housing bolt doesn’t line up with the H3 pan. Were still gonna send it

I think it’s perspective but yes I’ll keep both heads ~1” off the firewall to be safe

Trying this stuff out based on some interesting videos and such. It lays down amazing. painting the insides of the plates where it was bare metal. In theory this stuff is weld through, but I’ll clean it bare before burning it in

You’ll need to make a new hardline from the Tee to the front axle soft line clip. Usually we just weld that clip to the frame in front of the motor mount.

I was going to ask how you do the delete? Do you need full new hard lines? theres a lot going on back in front of the fuel tank line-wise
